What can I use to keep ant, snakes, chiggers, redbugs, etc. out my yard for my children?

Answer:

A great general insecticide for the ants, chiggers, redbugs and other insects would be our Talstar P. It is a concentrate that you mix with water at the rate of 1 ounce to a gallon of water. It dries clear, doesn't stain and has no odor. It safe to be used indoors around baseboards and cracks and crevices, and outdoors on most areas excluding edible vegetation. The indoor residual is roughly 90 days and outdoors with vary from 30 to 60 days depending on how the weather in your area affects it. For snakes you would need to either eliminate the areas in your yard that are condusive to hiding the snakes, or use a repellant like Snake Away. It is not guaranteed to keep every type of snake from your yard but it can minimize the activity you are currently seeing.
