Both products are pre emergents but they target different weeds and grasses and can only be used in certain areas. The Ronstar can only be used by commercial applicators and cannot be used on residential lawns. The XL 2G can be used by homeowners and both products have different active ingredients. If you tell us what weed/grass you are trying to kill and in what area you are treating, we may better be able to answer your question.
