I plan to buy some Boracare but I don't have very much wood to treat right now. If I don't use all the Boracare (1 gallon bottle) can I save some (undiluted and in the original bottle) in case I need some more in a few years? If so, how many years should it remain good? How can I tell if it goes bad?
The shelf life of undiluted Boracare is about 3 years. Once diluted Boracare should be used immediately. Boracare that is left for more than a few hours after it has been diluted will start to separate from the water and will be impossible to get back into a proper diluted form. You will be able to tell it has gone bad by the form it is in. It will likely crystallize.
