What should I use to kill american roaches?

Roaches have infested in my carpeted van. Advion gel did not work, it evaporates in few hours. Would like to use bait plate stations. What should i use to kill American roaches?

Answer:

When roaches are in a car it can be a little more difficult to complete get rid of the entire infestation. You would still need to treat the car/van the same way you would a house though to make sure you get rid of the entire colony. You would need to use a bait and if the advion is not working after having it down for several weeks, then you could swap to bait stations and change active ingredients by using the Maxforce FC Roach Bait Stations. These would provide the roaches with a bait without you having to worry about it melting all over your automobile. You would also want to use an IGR in the van just like in your home so something like the aerosol version of Gentrol IGR would be a great choice to shoot it all along the edges of the car and in cracks where they could hid. You could also spray it right on a surface you plan to place a bait station on so that the roach get a full dose of the birth control while its getting food to take back to the colony. For added control, you could use a residual insecticide spray like D-Force to spray along the crevices where you put the gentrol-but not where you put the bait- to have an added method of killing the roaches. The roaches most likely did not develop in your van overnight so they will not go away overnight. It could take several weeks to even a couple of months to get rid of the entire colony and all of the life cycles. Make sure you are taking non chemical steps of cleaning the car regularly and vacuuming up any crumbs or trash to limit their food sources.
