Kathy from Biloxi, Ms writes,
Is this grass good in the Gulf Coast area - Zone 9. It doesn't get very cold here, but we do have an occasional freeze in Jan/Feb/early March. I have grown Dichondra, but can't find a 'weed killer' that doesn't kill the Dichondra! I heard that the chemical "Monuran" works, but can't find a herbicide with it! So....am considering another type of grass. Would like a slow growing grass, if you can recommend one!
We recommend contacting your Master Gardner in your county for the best product recommendations for the turf you are wanting to establish. Your local Master Gardner is run through you the University system and is based in your county. They are most familiar with the temperatures, soil conditions and types of turf that will grow best for your area. They are a great resource for homeowners to establish a lawn treatment program.
