Will a lawn fertilizer such as Scotts Turf Builder harm outdoor or indoor potted plants?

only in small quantities

Answer:

We would not recommend using turf fertilizers on potted plants. Unfortunately, there are not mixing or application instructions and there is a risk that you could apply too much Nitrogen and burn the plants.
