The rate for Trimec 992 Broadleaf Herbicide is based on an amount per 1000 sq ft not amount per gallon.  Depending on your grass type you would use 1.1 to 1.5 fl oz/1000 sqft or 3.0 to 4.0 pints/acre.  You would mix this amount in 0.125 to 5.0 gallons/1000 sq ft or 5 to 220 gallons/acre as directed on the product label.
