You do not seem to recommend pyrethrin to kill stink bugs...why?

last year my backyard gardening was a disaster for my tomatoes. The stink bugs ruined 98% of my crop. A gardener recommended pyrethrum as it is made naturally to combat this problem. It is supposed to kill all pests safely and I do not want to apply toxic. chemicals to my veggies and fruits. I was wondering why you did not specifically recommend this product to kill the stink bug. Thanks for your help.

Answer:

You are trying to get rid of stinkbugs in a different place than most of our customers. Most of our customers are trying to keep this pest out of their homes as they are known to squeeze in to over winter by the thousands. We do not recommend pyrethrums for this use because these types of products only work at the time application and the insect must be directly contacted. Pyrethrum would be an appropriate choice to use in an edible food garden but since it will not leave a residual to protect against future stinkbugs multiple application would need to be done.
