How Zenprox Aerosol Works

Zenprox Aerosol has four active ingredients that work together for broad-spectrum pest control and quick knockdown of pests. Natural pyrethrins attack an insect’s central nervous system, causing paralysis and eventual death. Piperonyl Butoxide has no insecticidal properties of its own, rather it acts as a synergist to keep pyrethrins stable and at extra punch to insecticides. Tetramethrin acts as a more traditional synthetic pyrethroid, while the new active ingredient Etofenprox is a pyrethroid ether rather than an ester. This means Etofenprox has a slightly different chemical structure from most synthetic pyrethroids and makes it especially effective when resistance may be a concern.

Zenprox Aerosol can be sprayed in any direction (even with the can upside down), making it an even more versatile product. Though Zenprox Aerosol has some residual properties, it is best used as a knockdown agent.

Target Pests

Bed bugs, ants, carpet beetles, cockroaches, earwigs, fleas, spiders

PESTS CONTROLLED WITH ZENPROX AEROSOL: Bed bugs, ants, carpet beetles (black, furniture and varied), cigarette beetles, cockroaches, crickets, earwigs, firebrats, fleas, flour beetles (red and confused), grain beetles, mole crickets, pillbugs, sawtoothed grain beetles, silverfish, sowbugs, spiders

Target Uses

Zenprox Aerosol can be used where the active ingredient in Zenprox liquid concentrate is desired, along with the convenience of ready-to-use aerosol. Zenprox Aerosol is appropriate for quick knockdown of pests in non-food and non-feed areas of listed residences, businesses, and institutions. Zenprox Aerosol is an excellent choice as part of bed bug treatment as it can be used in many areas and is registered for use in all states, including New York.

Zenprox Aerosol Application Instructions

Use Zenprox Aerosol both indoors and out. Apply on interior surfaces (away from food handling areas) where insects crawl, and in hard to reach areas where insects hide. Approved for bed bug spot treatment to bed frames, box springs and mattresses.  Outside, spray Zenprox Aerosol on foundations of buildings, as well as on screens, window frames, eaves, porches, patios, garages and garbage areas where insects are active. A 16 oz can of Zenprox Aerosol can cover up to 500 sq ft.

Hold container upright with nozzle away from you. Press valve down and spray surface until slightly wet (at a rate of 2 seconds to treat approximately 1 linear foot of baseboard area). The enclosed crack and crevice straw is useful for hard-to-reach areas and for flushing small spaces where insect may harbor.

* Always read the product label completely before use.

One 16 oz. can covers up to 500 square feet.

Standard Application Rates:

* Press valve down and spray surface until slightly wet at a rate of 2 seconds to treat approximately 1 linear foot of baseboard area.

* For maximum application rate, spray for 24 seconds to cover an area of 5’ x 10’ (50 sq. ft.)

For use in the following areas:

In and on buildings, structures and their immediate surroundings and on modes of transport: apartment buildings, homes, hospitals; non-food/feed areas of hotels, industrial buildings, laboratories, mausoleums, motels, nursing homes, offices, private residences, schools, stores, utilities warehouses; and in non-food areas of restaurants, food manufacturing, processing, and servicing establishments; on vessels, rail cars, aircraft (do not use in aircraft cabins), buses, trucks, trailers; any non-food/non-feed handling establishment

Indoors

Apply as a crack and crevice or spot treatment to areas where pests crawl and hide, especially on hidden surfaces around sinks and storage areas, along and behind baseboards, around doors and windows, behind and under refrigerators, cabinets, sinks and stoves, and on the underside of shelves, drawers and bookcases. Do not reapply more than once every 14 days. Do not apply in food handling areas or allow product to contaminate food.

Fleas in buildings: Remove and destroy pet’s old bedding and replace with clean fresh bedding after treatment of pet areas. Apply as a crack and crevice treatment to infested areas such as base boards, windows and door frames, local areas of floors (under the edges of rugs and floor coverings), and between/under cushions or upholstered furniture. As a broadcast application, spray at the maximum rate of 24 seconds to cover 50 square feet. Do not allow pets to reoccupy treated areas until treated surfaces have thoroughly dried. Do not use Zenprox Aerosol directly on pets. Treat dogs and cats with a flea and tick control product before allowing them to reenter the treated area. We recommend using additional methods of control such as frequent vacuuming and use of an approved Insect Growth Regulator (IGR). See our entire selection of flea control products for additional options.

Bed Bugs: Thoroughly inspect area of suspected bed bug infestation and note potential harborage sites or actual infestations. Remove and/or pick up clothing and other obstacles that may prevent thorough inspection or treatment. Remove and sanitize infested bedding (pillows and linens), clothing or other items. Apply Zenprox Aerosol on mattresses as a spot treatment to mattress seams, edges, and tufts of bed only. Do not use Zenprox Aerosol directly on mattresses, pillows, bed linens or clothes. Do not saturate the mattress; and do not treat entire surface area of mattress. Allow mattress to dry thoroughly before replacing pillows and/or bed linens. Bed bugs may also harbor in areas of the room away from the bed. Apply as a crack and crevice or spot application where evidence of bed bugs occurs. This includes bed frames, box springs, inside empty drawers and clothes closets, night stands and other furniture in the room, carpet edges, high and low wall moldings (such as floor molding or window casings), wall voids, behind wall hangings and mirrors, wallpaper edges and popcorn ceilings. Remove all clothes and other articles from dressers or closets before application. Take bed apart. Treat joints and channels if hollow, such as square or round tubing, and see that interior framework is treated. Apply as a surface application to carpeting, drapes, and flooring at the rate of 16 ounces per 500 ft². Allow all treated areas to dry thoroughly before use. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR USE AS A SOLE PROTECTION AGAINST BED BUGS. See our entire selection of bed bug control products for additional options.

Outdoors

Point spray nozzle away from face. Hold can on slight downward angle. For best results, spray when air is calm. Spray with wind if breeze is blowing. Spray foundation of building where insects are active and may find entrance up to a height of 2 to 3 feet. For ants, spray around nests hidden under steps, brickwork, concrete, etc. Break apart accessible nests and spray on and around debris. Apply as a spray to outside surfaces of buildings where listed insects tend to congregate. Spray areas include screens, window frames, eaves, porches, patios, garages and refuse dumps. Do not reapply more than every 7 days.

    Zenprox Aerosol

    By Melva on 10/23/2012

This does work pretty quick!! Roaches died instantly. We used it in our rv park units and it help us much quicker than what we were using. One bottle cover a unit. I like it cause it had the straw to spray around edges were you can't see roaches coming out, but once you sprayed they just kept falling. good stuff. thanks.

    A 'must have' on hand

    By Linda on 01/18/2016

What I loved when I purchased a can of Zenprox Aerosol is that is's enough to spray my entire apartment, but even better, is the CONVENIENCE! If I only have a few minutes of spare time, I grab it, spray and quickly done. And it does the exact same job as the concentrated liquid Zenprox, but it's ready to go the minute you are ready. I also keep the Zenprox Concentrate, but the aerosol is my favorite because I feel the application is so easy when in a hurry, and it's great if only spraying a spot or 2.

Q
Will Zenprox Aerosol work on brown recluse?

I have a basement and I be occasionally seeing them upstairs in the house will this product kill them.

A

Zenprox Aerosol will kill those spiders that are sprayed directly as it is a contact kill only.  For residual control you would need to apply a product like Cyzmic CS.

Q
How does Zenprox Aerosol compare to Bedlam and Bedlam Plus?
A
Bedlam and Bedlam Plus offer a residual and a contact kill. The residual killing power will last for up to two weeks.  Zenprox is a contact kill aerosol and is not meant to leave a long term residual, it only lasts about 3-4 days depending on the surface it is applied to.

Q
Will Zenprox and Bedlam still be effective after a heat treatment is done? Any concerns if the products have already dried?

I use these products in our housing community. We do have on occasion a severe infestation and have to use heaters (electric) for some rooms. Any concerns with already dried product and heating the room say 7 days later? We would like to avoid any issues.

A

Bedlam and Bedlam Plus offer a residual and a contact kill. The residual killing power will last for up to two weeks.  Zenprox is a contact kill aerosol and is not meant to leave a long term residual, it only lasts about 3-4 days depending on the surface it is applied to. Either product should be applied after a heat treatment or steam application to cracks and crevices to allow the product to work during the residual period.
