How Zenprox EC Works
Zenprox EC is a liquid insecticide concentrate with the active ingredients Etofenprox and piperonyl butoxide. Etofenprox is a synthetic pyrethroid ether that attacks an insect’s central nervous system. Because most pyrethroids are esters, Etofenprox is especially effective when resistance may be a concern, such as when treating for bed bugs. Piperonyl butoxide has no insecticidal properties of its own, rather it acts as a synergist to keep insecticides stable and to add an extra punch to the killing power of active ingredients. Zenprox EC has a non-repellent effect, and it quickly kills insects that are contacted directly with the spray or that come into contact with treated areas shortly after an application. (Zenprox EC is not designed to have a long residual like many synthetic pyrethroid concentrates.)
Bed bugs, fleas, cockroaches, ants, pantry pests
PESTS CONTROLLED: Ants, Bed Bugs, Carpet beetles, Cockroaches, Confused flour beetles, Centipedes, Crickets, Darkling beetles, Dermestids, Earwigs, Firebrats, Flies, Fleas, Fruit flies, Gnats, Indian meal moths, Lesser grain borers, Millipedes, Mosquitoes, Moths, Pillbugs, Red flour beetles, Sawtoothed grain beetles, Scorpions, Silverfish, Sowbugs, Spiders (Brown recluse, Black widow, others), Stink Bugs, Ticks, Wasps
Zenprox EC effectively kills fleas, cockroaches, bed bugs, and other listed pests and can be used as a broadcast, spot, or crack and crevice treatment indoors in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Zenprox EC is one of the few concentrates labeled for use as a broadcast spray indoors for fleas. (Mix with an IGR such as Precor IGR for the most effective flea treatments.) Zenprox EC is also an excellent choice for treatments when pyrethroid resistance is a concern, such as when treating for cockroaches and bed bugs. Zenprox EC is conveniently labeled for use in many sensitive areas such as hospitals, nursing homes, day cares, and schools (follow specific treatment guidelines).
Zenprox has a residual effect of 3-4 days after the treatment dries, so retreatments may be necessary after 14 days. Zenprox EC is designed to kill on contact to treat existing infestations rather than to provide long-term prevention. Zenprox EC, however, is a non-repellent contact kill, whereas most natural pyrethrin-based insecticides have a repellent effect.
ACTIVE INGREDIENTS: Etofenprox 16.2%, Piperonyl butoxide 64.8%
Always read the product label completely before use.
Mixing Directions: Zenprox EC mixes easily with water and may be applied with most application equipment. For best results, partially fill sprayer with water, add the labeled amount of Zenprox EC and fill to the required amount of water. Diluted spray mixture may be stored overnight and used the following day, but mixture should be agitated well prior to use.
Tank Mixing: Zenprox EC can be mixed with EPA-registered insect growth regulators (IGRs) in areas where these products are registered to be applied. Use the more stringent label directions when using multiple products.
Repeat treatments to infested areas as necessary, but not less than 14 days after initial treatment.
Each 16 oz. (pint) bottle of concentrate yields 8 gallons of finished solution.
Standard Application Dilution Rates / Mixing Ratios:
*2 fl. oz./gal. of water – 0.25% - all applications
*Use 1 gallon of finished solution per 1,000 sq. ft.
For use in the following areas:
Indoors in homes, apartment buildings, hotels, schools, day cares, nursing homes, hospitals, office buildings, correctional facilities, commercial and industrial buildings, warehouses, non-food/non-feed handling establishments, modes of transportation, rail cars, marine vessels, institutions
Broadcast/General Surface Treatments: Use a coarse, low pressure fan spray to apply the dilution uniformly over surfaces to be treated. Apply to carpets, floors, cabinets, cove base, and other areas where pests are located.
Spot or Crack and Crevice Treatments: Use a coarse, low pressure spray or pin stream. Treat entry points such as around water pipes, doors, windows, and eaves. Treat areas where pests normally feed or hide such as baseboards, corners, around water pipes, cracks and crevices. Spot treat floor rugs, beneath furniture, in closets, and storage areas.
Bed Bugs: Disassemble the bed frame and remove bedding. Do not apply product to bedding. Wash bedding and dry using medium to high heat to kill bed bugs. Use a coarse, low-pressure spray to apply to the bed frame, mattress and box spring. Application to mattresses and box springs is intended for treatment of seams, edges, and tufts only. Do not saturate the mattress and box spring. Do not treat the entire surface of the mattress or box spring. Allow spray to dry before using the mattress and/or box spring. Spot treat baseboards, behind pictures/wall hangings, rugs, and other articles in the bedroom or sleeping area. Not recommended as the sole protection against bed bugs.

Major flea infestation
By Marie in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on March 19, 2012
I live in a small mobile home and 2 years ago after a severe storm damaged my underpinning, my 2 dogs had killed a couple of squirrels an brought them home and left them under my home. After I noticed a flea problem that was soon out of control, we went looking for the source. We found fleas on the dead sqirrlels. Clearly, the squirrels has been dead for a long time. My dogs were fine because of comfortis so I never thought about fleas. I, on the oherhand was being eaten alive!!!! I had to move out of my home. I lost all my furniture, mattresses and carpet. I did everything my exterminator told me to do. Nothing and I mean nothing worked!! The fleas love my blood!! This product is the first of several products tried that has made a slight difference in this devestating situation. I am praying that this product along with the precore IGR, will kill all of these fleas for good!!!!

Fleas came back within a week

Zenprox seemed to do a good job of knocking down but the residual killing power wasn't as good as Onslaught or Temprid.

I purchased Zenprox mostly for the elimination or reduction of a scorpions in a rural residence. I had read that there really wasn't a product available that works on scorpions but I was willing to try anything within reason. I've used the product as instructed 3 times now and have seen a reduction of at least 75%, which is great. I will keep using this product as long as I continue to get these results.

Review of Zenprox EC Insecticide
By Tom in Austin, TX on August 28, 2012
Purchased this product to control scorpions. Diluted and applied product as indicated in the directions. I have used several other of your products for scorpion control during summer months with favorable results. This product only killed a couple of insects total. I would not purchase it again.

Indian Meal Moths -- Zenprox EC Insecticide
By Epson233 in vancouver, wa on November 3, 2014
we had a bad infestation of indian meal moths that had gotten into some dry dog food that we had stored in the garage for the racoons -- while away on vacation the neighbors who were feeding the wildlife left the containers uncovered -- the moths were everywhere -- could not even open the door to come into the house without them coming in also after a week of very intense spraying of the walls - ceilings -- floors and all cracks -- they started to decrease in numbers -- this product is easy to use -- does not stain and works like a charm on these critters -- highly recommend this product if you have food products such as birdseed etc which are usually infected with eggs and if not used quickly will hatch out and infect your storage areas -- toss the spoiled food products as they should not be sprayed with the insecticide and wash all containers -- in other words start over and be very vigilant -- you too should have success with the use of this product against the indian meal moths
By Mitchell in Blue Springs, MO on April 21, 2015
I have used this product for over a year now and it's one great insecticide. We eliminated our bedbugs using this product and bed encapsulation. Using both techniques solve the issue quickly and we use the insecticide quarterly. If we come across the occasional invader, it's taking the eternal slumber with it's feet in the air.
By a in pa on August 7, 2015
It got rid of majority of the bedbugs but I have to order more or the one that doesn't let them reproduce (insect growth regulator) and spray again. But it did help quite a bit. Just glad I didn't have to pay the pest person their $1,000 cost and I could do it on my own. Yes I would recommend this to use.

QI had sprayed down the fenstar about 3 weeks ago will it counter act the zenprox when I spray it?
Bought fenstar kit for bed bugs, doesnt seem to be doing the job so I bought zenprox. Will the two react together in any way or make the zenprox less effective?
ABoth Fenvastar and Zenprox are non-repellents and three weeks time has passed therefore there should not be any counteraction between the two.
February 4, 2013Steve from Huntsville, Al asked:

October 1, 2013Brian from Cincinnati Ohio asked:
QZenprox EC says it kills on contact. Does it have an affect on bugs after the solution dries?
Basically does the product work as a boundary. When it dries and bugs cross through the dried product does it still kill or is this product just for on contact kill.
APer the manufacturer the Zenprox EC works bests as a contact kill but will continue to kill insects on nonporous surfaces for about 3-4 days after initial application and 4 days on porous surfaces.
June 20, 2014Doug from Tampa Fl asked:
QWhy is Zenprox EC not available in FL, I don't see a restriction on the label?
AUnfortunately we are not given and exact reason as to why a product is restricted in certain states. Usually it has to do with continual misuse of the product resulting in hazzards to streams, lakes, public water systems, etc. You may contact your states Dept of Agriculture or the manufacturer Zoecon directly at 1-800-248-7763 for details.
August 8, 2013Gerald from Epps, La. 71237 asked:

August 2, 2014Grisel from Ca asked:
QIs there a video on how to use it? I wonder if I can attach it to the garden hose?
ANo, there is not a video for Zenprox EC Insecticide. This product is not labeled for outdoor use so we would recommend using a pump sprayer indoors. Use a coarse, low pressure spray or pin stream. Treat entry points such as around water pipes, doors, windows, and eaves. Treat areas where pests normally feed or hide such as baseboards, corners, around water pipes, cracks and crevices. Spot treat floor rugs, beneath furniture, in closets, and storage areas. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
April 13, 2012Neil asked:
QCan you have Zenprox EC Insecticide in NJ? Why can't it be used in NY?
AZenprox Ec is available to New Jersey residents. It is a New York specific law that prevents us from shipping certain products to New York. These are products defined by the New York government that they do not want homeowners using because they are professional products. We do have a link to New York products that are permissible for us to ship.
August 27, 2013Leslie from Lancaster, Pa asked:
QI was told to use Zenprox EC at 25 fl oz / gallon. Is it effective when using it at this rate?
I will mix up a new batch to spray again but should I wait a month or do it right away at the correct rate?
AWe are not sure who told you to mix Zenprox EC at a rate of 25 Fl oz per gallon water. To mix at a 25% mixture you would mix 2 Fl oz Zenprox EC into one gallon water. We would not recommend to mix any higher. Over application can irritate the pest and cause them to start a frenzy. This makes it harder to treat for them. Please follow the product label for application.
