    The Avenger Weed Killer Concentrate is safe for use around edible vegetation and fruit trees as it does not persist in the soil and is approved for organic gardening.  Be sure to not spray any of the plants you do not want to kill as it is non-selective and will kill anything it is applied to.

    What if any herbicide is safe to use in my garden?
    I need to kill grass and weeds without killing peas, butter beans, corn, okra,and tomatoes. (All very small plants at this point)

    Please look into Avenger Herbicide.  Avenger Weed Killer Concentrate is a great solution for those looking for environmentally safe herbicides. It is a non-selective and post emergence herbicide, that is made from oranges and lemons to kill grasses, weeds, and broadleaves. D-limonene (citrus oil), which is the active ingredient in Avenger, naturally takes away the waxy plant cuticle so the plant ends up being dehydrated and then dies.     Avenger Weed Killer Concentrate should be applied when the targeted weeds are actively growing for the best results. It will work in cool and cloudy conditions ( as low as 40 degrees F).

    How much Avenger Weed Killer would i need for 10 acres?
    I have 5 acres myself and our catholic church has 5 acres. How many bottles would I need to spray 10 acres and what size?

    How you need is going to be entirely dependent on whether you are spot spraying or trying to treat the entire surface area of the 10 acres. This is a non-selective product, so its the organic/natural version of RoundUp. It will kill any and all plants it comes into contact with so if you are trying to use an organic product to kill the entire surface of plant life of the 10 acres this would technically work but may need a few application depending on how hearty the weeds are. According to the product label you would use 1 1/2 gallons of Avenger to every 10 gallons of water you mix up. Depending on the rate at which you spray 10 gallons could cover a very wide range of area. You will probably need at least 3 gallons of Avenger per acre on a rough spray estimate if you are treating all the square footage and not just spot spraying.

    Will the Avenger Weed Killer destroy Congongrass?

    While the product label does not specifically mention Congongrass, this is a natural version of Round UP. It is a non-selective herbicide which means it will kill ALL vegetation it touches including grasses, weeds, flowers and similar plants.

    Will Avenger Weed Killer be as effective as Roundup to kill weeds?
    How soon will the weeds die? Can I use this in my vegetable garden? What if it is rains after I apply?

    Avenger Weed Killer is similar to RoundUp as it is a non-selective herbicide labeled for grassy and broadleaf weeds. The active ingredient D-limonene (citrus oil) removes the waxy plant cuticle so the plant ends up being dehydrated and then dies.The result time will vary on the type of weed being treated, how established or long the weed is, the soil temperature at the time of application, and the air temperature. For better results, you will want to apply Avenger to actively growing weeds when the soil temperatures are above 55 degrees, the air temperatures have been 60 to 65 degrees for 4-5 days consecutively, the weeds are actively growing and at least 3 to 4 inches long, and no rain is expected for at least 2 hours. 

    Avenger Weed Killer should be a milky white substance as it comes out of the nozzle. Be sure to agitate the mixed solution to the propery consistency for best results. Please see the product label for mix rates and application instructions.

    What is the ratio of this product and water when using a dial hose end sprayer on Bahia grass?

    Avenger Weed Killer Concentrate like many herbicides application ratio varies. So if it calls for 3 gallons avenger per acre. You would break it down from there to oz per 1000 square feet. We would like to know what type of dial sprayer to be more accurate.

    Is there an herbicide that can be used in an actively growing vegetable garden?
    There is nut grass, bermuda, pigweed, dallas grass, johnson grass etc. you name it, I have it. It has been an incredibly wet year and the weeds and grass have grown faster than I can hoe them.

    Avenger Weed Killer or Burnout would be products that you could use.  You would want to be sure to not apply it to any of the vegetables as it will kill anything that is sprayed with it.  Before weeds emerge you could use the Vegetable & Ornamental Weeder.

    Killing weeds now, and preventing them during the growing season
    I live in Southern NJ, I have a 20x30 garden with a small strawberry patch, and a blackberry bush along the back of the garden. I have continuous weeds that I can not get rid of, crabgrass mainly, and vine like weeds, as well as sticker bushes. I've tried many different types of things to eliminated them, but to do use they still come up. I want to kill all the weeds, now, and start in beginning to mid may start planting tomatoes, peppers, butternut squash, and cantaloupes, and sunflowers. what can I use now, and then later to help keep things down, and away.

    Will Avenger kill quackgrass?

    Avenger Weed Killer Concentrate can kill quackgrass and just about anything else it is applied to. Be careful to avoid getting the product on desirable vegetation. If most of the lawn has been affected by quackgrass, the only sure fire way to get rid of it is to spray the entire lawn with Avenger. Spray when the lawn is growing actively, preferably in the spring. The treatment will kill the lawn grass as well as the quackgrass. After about two weeks, you may begin replanting.

    Will Avenger Weed Killer Concentrate damage evergreen trees if the spray gets on bark or exposed roots?
    I am clearing a wooded are of weeds.

    Avenger Weed Killer Concentrate should not be applied to desired areas including trees. It will kill any plant or tree that you spray it on.  It is non-selective, meaning it will affect anything it touches.  If you have a large tree though, then you would have to use a large amount of product directly on the stump or get it in the trunk of the tree by drilling into it for it to die.  Larger trees are not normally affected by overspray or by applying to other plants or grass nearby.

    How much Avenger Weed Killer Concentrate per gallon does it take to kill cactus?
    A

    Avenger Weed Killer Concentrate will target annual weeds, grasses and broadleaf weeds.  We would recommend a product like Remedy Ultra Herbicide or Tordon RTU Specialty Herbicide. Each of these takes care of hardier plants and brush where Avenger and Roundup is more for broadleaf and grassy weeds. You may also contact your local cooperative extension office Master Gardener for additional tips/suggestions.

    Small annual weeds-32 oz to 7 qts of water
    Large annual weeds and most perennials- 32 oz to 5 1/2 qts of water
    Hard to kill weeds-32 oz to 3 qts of water
