    Q
For a case of bed bugs, how often should I spray?
I live in an apartment. I just found out about a month ago it has bed bugs. My guess is they are in the 12 apartments. I lived here a year then I started getting bites. Management says we will be having a new pest control company in 30 days or less. I am on my own until then.
    A
Your best option is to use one of our Bed Bug Kits.  They have a very high success rate and have all of the same professional products that most companies use for less than half the cost.  Our kits also come with complete instructions that explain how and where to apply each product.  You should treat every two weeks until activity is gone.

I need to buy bed bug products but want it shipped in nondescript package. Is that possible?
I don't want it know I am purchasing something for bed bugs. I need a package that says nothing on it but my name and a return address of your company but nothing about bugs!
    A
Our packaging is plain brown boxes or priority mail boxes. The return shipping label usually does say our name, but upon customer request it will just say Shipping, Shipping. Please let us know if you would like help placing an order.

    Q
Will Raid Ant and Roach Killer kill bed bugs?
    A

We do not carry any Raid products so we are not able to comment on what they will kill.  We can tell you for bed bugs we recommend using a bedbug kit. The Bed Bug Kit #2 provides you with the professional products necessary to do a complete bed bug treatment in your home. This kit has just the right balance of products to treat at least two rooms completely, plus enough to do the several follow-up treatments that are crucial to success. Unlike other kits you may find, the Do My Own Pest Control kits contain the most effective products available based on the most current research. This kit contains 1 x 8 oz. bottle of FenvaStar EcoCap concentrate (makes 8-16 gallons), 1 x 4 oz. bottle of CimeXa Dust, 1 x Bellow Hand Duster dusting tool, 2 x 17 oz. cans of Bedlam Bed Bug Spray, and 1 pint of Steri-Fab. It is very important that you take the time to educate yourself on all of the places bedbugs can hide and all of the labor that is involved in preparing a room for a bedbug treatment. Please take a few moments to read over our Bedbug Guide to get a general idea of what needs to be done. We also recommend that you encase all of your mattresses and boxsprings with Protecta Bed Encasements as mattresses and boxsprings can be very difficult to impossible to treat because of all of the seams, folds, cracks and crevices.

    Q
How often and when to apply which product of the kit
Hi, I'm looking for an end to end solution for bedbugs in my flat "1 bedroom + 1 living room". I don't have any heavy furniture like couch or bed however, there is a floor to floor carpet. Please let me know the order of application of the products in this kit (which product to apply first and which one next) and the number of kits that will be required to remove the infestation from my flat completely. I'm seeing 1-2 bed bugs in 2-3 days.
    A
One Bedbug Kit #2 should be enough product to treat 2 average sized rooms with a moderate amount of belongings. Very large rooms or those rooms that have lots of furniture or items that need to be treated may require additional products. Please take a few moments to read over our Bed Bug Guide which is included with ever bedbug kit purchase. This guide will explain how and when to treat and it will also highlight 'hot spot' areas that may need extra attention. We recommend that you treat every 7-10 days with the sprays (the dust only needs to be applied every 6 months unless it is displaced). The order that you apply the products is completely up to you. There is no magic number of products or treatments that will eliminate bed bugs completely. The key to eliminating the infestation is to be super through. Once you are able to go 30 days with no bites and no evidence of bed bugs on visual inspections, you are considered bedbug free.

    Q
I got a few bedbug bites and applied Phantom liquid everywhere. Now what should I do?
It is a week later. Is it safe or wise to apply Bedlam or other liquids before dusting, etc.?
    A
We do not recommend spraying Bedlam over areas where you have already applied Phantom. If you apply a repellent insecticide, such as Bedlam, over the same area where you have sprayed Phantom you will ruin the non-repellent properties of Phantom. The idea behind using Phantom is that the bedbugs will not be able to detect where you have applied the product. They will not be able to avoid the treated area and there is no known bedbug resistance to the active ingredient in Phantom.

    Q
Why are the bed bugs coming right back to the treated areas?
I used everything in the Bed Bug Kit #2 after cleaning and vacuuming thoroughly and even done several follow up treatments. The Bed Bugs were gone for a few weeks but now are coming back. Are they now resistant to the pesticides? Is there not residual chemicals present still in the treated areas to be effective in killing the returning bed bugs? It seems that even after spraying BedLam around the bed a couple hours before bed, we still end up with fresh bites and we even catch one making it way across the sheets in the night. Please help.
    A
The products in the kit you are using are working to kill the bed bugs, but they are not contact kills, they are residuals. Also, they are not repelling the bed bugs away since if they were, they would not die but rather be pushed around the room by where you spray the chemical. Putting the chemicals down in the treatments does not put a bubble around you or your bed to stop them from crawling. If the ones that are biting you or crawling near you are alive now, they wont be for long if they passed over a surface you treated with one of the products. Bed bugs can hide in any crevice small enough to slide your fingernail or a credit card into and it can take time for all of them to come out from hiding. You normally have to treat every 7 days with all of the products in the kit until you can go 30 days in a row without bites or signs of bedbugs. Only at that point should you feel that you have gotten rid of all the stages of the pests. Also, make sure you have not reinfested the home/room by bringing more in from where you got them in the first place. Bed bugs take a ton of detailed treatments and persistance to get rid of them and can take anywhere from 5 weeks to 4 months to completely eliminate if treatments are not done properly or if you are very heavily infested.

    Q
We are early in the game in regard to bedbugs. What would you suggest we use? Is DE a good product?
We had a few nights with bedbug bites. We moved to a safe bedroom, and we want to be proactive. A pest control operator was here, and he could not find any. He was ready to treat with all sorts of things. We would have a lot to do before they came in and it seemed monumental. What do you suggest?
    A
There are no short cuts when it comes to bedbug elimination. A few bedbugs can become a plethora of bedbugs in very short order and you need to be proactive. All of the pretreatment requirements that your pest control operator spoke to you about such as washing and bagging your clothes, removing clutter and etc is just that , is a requirement. DE does a good job, but it works much to slowly to be used alone; it can take over a week to kill a bedbug after it has been in contact with DE.We have several different sizes of bedbugs kits that contain the products we recommend for doing a proper treatment. We do not recommend changing rooms. You will end up having the bedbugs scatter to different areas of your home as they try to find a meal. Just finding bumps on your body is not indicative of bedbugs. Bumps could be an allergic reaction to something or a mosquito bite, not necessarily bedbugs. Bedbugs are not invisible, and you should be able to find evidence of an infestation. Try sleeping with solid, light colored sheets and inspecting them in the morning for blood spots.

Does the Bedbug Kit #2 come with the Gentrol IGR?
    A
No, the Bedbug Kit #2 comes with everything listed on the product description. We used to carry the Gentrol in the Bedbug Kits, but since the outbreak of bedbugs there has not been enough studies shown to prove its effectiveness. We feel your money can be spent better on products we know for sure will work to eradicate bedbugs.

Do you recommend a bed bug kit or purchasing Bedlam, PyGanic 1% dust, and Onslaught?
I am 8.5 months pregnant and completely terrified of bringing my baby home. I have been suffering with the bites for 3 weeks now, and I just found two bugs in my bed although I didn't see any when I did the tape test 2 weeks ago. I haven't been to sleep since spotting the bugs.

Best option for bed bugs is our bed bug kits, which come with the best products out right now that should be used by a professional company that knows what they are doing.  All of our kits come with full instructions on how and where to apply each product in the kit.  The kits have a high success rate when used as directed.  We also have lots of treatment information on our website.

    Q
i just discovered a bed bug infestation in my home. i bombed sprayed. what else should i do?
    A

When treating for bed bugs, we normally recommend our Bed Bug Kits depending on how many rooms you are treating. As an example, our Bed Bug Kit #2 will have enough product to treat two rooms multiple times. Steri-Fab is a contact kill and can be used on furniture, carpet, etc. This will be used to kill bed bugs when/if you see them. Bedlam Insecticide will be used to treat your mattress directly. You will spray the tufts, seams and folds of the mattress(es). This should not be broadcast across your mattress. You will do this treatment every 10-14 days until you do not see activity for 30 days. It also comes with Cimexa Dust. This will be used as a preventative inside your wall voids. You will take off the light plate switches and electrical outlets and use the hand duster to do a couple of puffs per hole. Make sure you are not using too much dust because the bugs will not walk across it. This product dries them out. It can be reapplied every 7-8 months depending on the severity of the issue. Cimexa Dust can remain active for up to 10 years if left undisturbed. The kit also comes with Temprid SC. This is an insecticide that you will use along the baseboards, cracks and crevices. This will be done every 10-14 days as well until you do not see activity for 30 days.

The process with bed bugs could be a long one but will be worth it in the end when you no longer have pests. Please let us know if you have any additional questions. We do also have a Bed Bug Guide for you to take a look at.

    Q
How often and how many times do I have to treat my home to get rid of bedbugs?
    I am using Drione dust.
    A
First, using powders or dusts alone will not effectively get rid of a bedbug infestation. Insecticide dusts and powders take about a week to actually kill insects and in that time the bedbugs can still bite and reproduce. We offer bedbug kits that contain all of the different products you need to eliminate bedbugs and retreatments should be done every 7-10 days until you do not receive a bite for 30 days. Most dusts only need to be applied once every few months and unless you vacuumed. We also highly recommend using mattress and boxspring encasements to help eliminate bedbug infestations. These bedbug proof covers will trap existing bedbugs and eliminate hiding places and make inspections easier.

Do you have a product to kill both bedbugs and roaches?
    A
Both the Equil Lambda and the Eco PCO D-X Dust - 10 oz. are included in our bedbug kits and they are both labeled for use on bedbugs and roaches. You must read and follow the product labels as the application for roaches vs bedbugs is completely different. We would also recommend you use a roach bait gel along with the products that come in the bedbug kits to help eliminate the roaches.

Can I use CimeXa Dust on areas where I sprayed Temprid SC?
I'm planning on spraying Temprid SC. Would you recommend then applying CimeXa dust, or will adding the dust prevent the Temprid SC from working properly?
    A
It is not recommended to apply the Cimexa Dust in the same areas that you have treated with Temprid SC for most insect applications. The areas that you will treat can vary based on the insect or insects that you are targeting. Please provide additional information so that we can give you more specifics on where to apply each product.

    Q
How do I get rid of bedbugs?
I've tried different products, but they are still here. I don't know how I got them in the first place. What can I do to get rid of them?
    A

We would recommend using our Bed Bug Kit #2. It has all the products that you will use to combat the bed bugs and do multiple treatments. This kit will treat at least two rooms completely.

The first product in it is the Temprid SC 8 mL packs. There are 4 8 mL tubes that come with this kit. You will put this in a pump sprayer and spray around the baseboards and cracks and crevices in the rooms you are treating. You will use this every two weeks until you do not see bed bug activity for 30 days.

The next product is called Cimexa Dust. You will receive a Bellow hand duster with your order as well. You will place the dust in the hand duster and dust inside the wall voids. You will take off the light plates and electrical sockets.

This kit also comes with Steri-Fab. This is a contact kill that can be sprayed on any surface and will kill bed bugs on contact.

Bedlam Insecticide Spray comes in an aerosol can. You will spray the tufts and seams of the mattress and box spring where the bed bugs reside. You will also spray the bed frame and headboard. This treatment will be done every two weeks until you do not see activity for 30 days.

All of these products used in conjuction will combat bed bugs.

    Q
Will the Bedbug Kits still be effective even if the home is vacant?
    A
Thorough applications of the products in any of our bedbug kits directly into cracks and crevices will still kill bedbugs. It is true that the bedbugs may be less active and it can take longer to eliminate the bedbugs if the home is vacant but they will eventually start moving around looking for a food source and they will cross through deposited materials.

    Q
How long can bed bugs live in a closed off room without human contact?
My question, is the longer we wait to treat the room, leaving it closed off and no human contact, do we have a better chance of the process and products from you to be the most effective?
    A

You have the best chance for complete control if you treat as soon as possible.  An adult bed bug can go for up to a year without feeding, so closing off a room will not necessarily do much towards eliminating an infestation. Please take a moment to read over our Bed Bug Treatment Guide

    Q
How do you treat a room for bed bugs with a lot of stuff in it?
I'm treating a single room in a 4 bedroom house where bedbugs have been spotted with your Bed Bug Kit #2 and there are a lot of items in the room that are not furniture (knick-knacks, paper, books, etc.). I'm a little overwhelmed about where to begin in the process; do I only treat the bed area? There are two bookshelves near by, do I treat everything on them, even if I don't see evidence of bedbugs on them? How about items that are across the room from the bed? How would one go about making sure no bedbugs are transferred out of that room via myself, or cats/dogs that may enter/exit the room? Should we treat the adjacent rooms anyways, even if bedbugs are not spotted in them? Thank you for your time~ -First Time Bed Bug victim
    A

Be sure to check out the step by step guide on Bed Bug Kit #2 page.  We would recommend to place the items in sealed containers and use Nuvan Strips. Be sure the leave the items sealed for at least one week. It’s recommended to treat not only that room, but all surrounding rooms. Be sure to also treat bookshelves, night stands, etc. It’s hard to prevent hitch hiking of bed bugs. A thorough treatment should help with that.
