    Q
Is the Bed Bug Kit #3 safe around pets and people?
    A
None of our products including the products in the Bedbug Kit #3 are harmful to humans or pets when applied as directed on the product labels. You should always keep people (except for the person applying the products of course) and pets out of the room while the products are being applied. Once the products have dried, usually after one hour, then it is perfectly safe to allow people and pets back into the room.

    Q
What is easiest and cheapest way to get rid of bed bugs?
    A
There is no easy way to get rid of bedbugs, if there were an easy way to eliminate them then we would not be seeing so many people with infestations. Bedbug treatments are time consuming and labor intensive. You MUST treat every crack and crevice in infested areas, wash and dry clothing, inspect and treat books, shoes, knick knacks, papers, electronics and any other item that has potential to harbor the insects. A great way to save money when treating for bedbugs is to do it yourself. You can pay a professional pest control operator thousands to do the same job you can do yourself, with the same products for a couple of hundred dollars. We have all of the products you will need available on our website and we have an assortment of bedbug kits that we have put together for our customers convenience that contain all of the products you will need and will save a few bucks.

    Q
Does the Bed Bug Kit #3 really work and how long is it effective for?
    A
The products in our Bed Bug Kits are the same products that you would pay a professional company to use.  The products in our kits are the best available and they do work, but how well they work all depends on how you as the applicator applies them.  You need to take your time and be very thorough when treating.  All of our kits come with full instructions.  As long as you follow those instructions and take your time, you will have great success like most of our customers.  Each kit has enough product to treat at least 2 times.  Some infestations may require additional products depending on severity and size of the infestation.

    Q
Will these products hurt my pet?
I have a kitten and I am worried about the effects of insecticides on her. Do you have any products to add to the laundry?
    A
All of the products in the Bedbug Kit #3 are safe to use around pets as long as you follow the product labels and the pet is out of the room while you do the actual treatment. Your pet can return to the room as soon as the treated areas are dry. There is no need to add any product to your laundry. Any bedbugs or bedbug eggs will be killed in the dryer. Bedbugs and bedbug eggs will be instantly killed when they are exposed to temperatures over 120 degrees. All household dryers reach temperatures over 120 degrees on any heat cycle.

    Q
How many room does the bed bug kit #3 cover? Also, is there a guarantee on this kit working?
    A
The Bedbug Kit #3 will treat between 2-4 rooms depending on the size of the rooms and the amount of items that must be treated in each room. There is no guarantee offered with a bedbug kit for two reasons. 1. The pesticides are only half of the treatment program. The other half is how well you prepare each room that must be treated, how thorough you are with the treatments and making sure the re-treatments are done every 7-10 days. 2. Bedbug re-infestation can happen at anytime and there is no way to know if you are dealing with the old infestation or a new infestation. The products contained in our bedbug kits are all professional products. If you are consistent and thorough with your treatments, you will get the same results as the professionals do when they use these products.

    Q
With bedbug kit #3, what order and products do I use in wall voids?
    A

Here are the contents of Bed Bug Kit 3 and where they can be applied.

Apply First: FenvaStar EcoCap (8 oz): FenvaStar EcoCap is a microencapsulated product containing Esfenvalerate (3.5%). Featuring the EcoCap technology FenvaStar EcoCap is made using a renewable vegetable oil instead of petroleum resulting in almost no odor and no VOCs. This enviromentally responsible pest control product will still quickly knockdown bed bugs. Apply Fenvastar EcoCap as a spot treatment to potential harborage sites and migration paths, and cracks and crevices, around baseboards, floorboards, headboards, and walls.

***Do NOT apply to furniture surfaces or mattresses where people will be laying or sitting. Infested bedding should not be treated with insecticides, but should be removed, placed in sealed plastic bags, and taken for laundering and drying at high temperatures.***

Apply as needed: Steri-Fab: Steri-Fab is an alcohol based product that will evaporate after 10-20 minutes and leave no residual effect. Steri-Fab may be sprayed on almost any surface including those sensitive areas that you were not able to treat with other products.(Mattresses, sofas, bedding, dog beds, etc)  This product is one of the only products that recent research shows will kill bedbug eggs. Application: Spray in areas of bedbug activity, such as tufts and folds of mattresses, sofas, etc. (Steri-Fab must come in direct contact with bedbugs and bedbug eggs to be effective).

    2. Apply after Fenvastar has dried. Cimexa Dust for Bed Bugs (4 oz. bottle): Dusts are great for applying under baseboards around the room,(this stops bedbugs from fleeing the room and spreading to other areas) for dusting on and inside the box spring itself, and for dusting in cracks and crevices where liquids may not go (such as in and behind picture frames, underneath furniture, in the cracks of dresser drawers, and in the joints cracks and hollow tubing of bed frames, etc). Dust is best applied with the hand duster that is included with your kit. Apply in a fine coating on surfaces, and do not over-dust.  Leaving piles of dust will just cause the insect to walk around the dust and not through it.

Bellows Hand Duster: The bellows hand duster included with this kit should be used to apply the dust to any cracks and crevices needed. By using the bellows hand duster you will be able to apply the correct amount of dust in the correct place.

4 Cans Bedlam (17 oz each): Bedlam comes in a convenient aerosol spray that may be sprayed on areas that other products cannot. Bedlam may be used for spot treatments on mattresses, upholstered furniture, drawers, bed frames, carpeted areas, curtains... You may also use Bedlam to knock down fleeing bedbugs after initial treatment of other insecticides.  Includes a straw tool for spraying into small cracks, crevices and other hiding places.

    Q
What is the difference between temprid and bedlam?
    A
We are assuming you are referring to the Temprid Ready Spray as it also comes in a concentrated form as well. The Temprid Ready Spray and Bedlam Aerosol both work similarly to control bed bugs and give you a crack and crevice straw to use in drawers of dressers, bed frames and other hard to reach places that bed bugs hide. The biggest difference between the two is that Temprid is a newer product and is formulated with 2 active ingredients and one of the ingredients found in the Temprid there are no resistance issues with bedbugs. Bedlam has been used for a long time and is still a great product, however some strains of bedbugs have started to become resistant to pyrethroids, the classification of the chemical in bedlam and many other products on the market. That is one of the reasons why we have bed bugs kits with different ingredients in them to make sure you eliminate them and dont have to worry as much about running into resistent strains.

    Q
I am the only person getting bitten in my house does that mean the bugs aren't everywhere?
When I get bitten I have usually fallen asleep on couch or love seat, should I throw them out? My fiance has not gotten bitten and I don't either while in our bed, should I still treat that area?
    A

The very first thing that we recommend you do is get a positive ID on the insect that is bothering you. Have you seen the insects? If you know for sure you are dealing with bedbugs then you should treat the room that is infested. Be sure to treat the entire room, not just the sofa. The decision to discard the sofa is up to you but we can tell you that they can be hard to treat. You also have the option of encasing the sofa in the FurnitureSafe encasement. Sofa Safe couch encasement is an easy method for preventing bed bugs from infesting your sofa or couch and best of all prevents you from to discard of your furniture.  Not only is it easy to install on your sofa, but it locks existing bed bugs in so they cannot get on your clothes or spread further through your home.

    Q
What is the best Product to kill bed bugs and keep killing after use?
    A
There are no short cuts when it comes to bedbug elimination. A few bedbugs can become a plethora of bedbugs in very short order and you need to be proactive. All of the pretreatment requirements that you may have heard about such as washing and bagging your clothes, removing clutter and etc is just that , is a requirement. We have several different sizes of bedbugs kits that contain the products we recommend for doing a proper treatment. We do not recommend changing rooms. You will end up having the bedbugs scatter to different areas of your home as they try to find a meal. Just finding bumps on your body is not indicative of bedbugs. Bumps could be an allergic reaction to something or a mosquito bite, not necessarily bedbugs. Bedbugs are not invisible, and you should be able to find evidence of an infestation. Try sleeping with solid, light colored sheets and inspecting them in the morning for blood spots. You can see all the instructions you will need for treating in our Bed Bug Treatment Guide which comes included in your order when you purchase a kit.

    Q
I have a bed bug infestation in the sofa at my apartment. Do I need to throw the sofa out and buy a new one?
before I spray the apartment. What would you recommend as the most effective way to rid my apartment of these pest?
    A
If you are going to dispose of your sofa you should do so before the treatment. You should also wrap your sofa in plastic before moving it to avoid having bedbugs drop off and infest other areas and you should destroy the sofa in some way so that others will not pick up the contaminated furniture from the curbside. We recommend that you check out our bedbug kits as they come with all of the different products you need to treat for bedbugs effectively. Be thorough when performing the treatments!

    Q
Do bed bugs respond to IGR treatments?
    A
Many customers have had great success with the Gentrol IGR for bed bugs, as it is the only IGR that has been proven to work on bed bug reproductive cycles. While it is not guaranteed 100% of the time, many see significant differences when using the product in the speed in which they eliminate the infestation.

    Q
Does the Bed Bug Kit contain propoxur?
    A
No, the products in our bed bug kits do not contain propoxur because the jury is still out as to how effective propoxur is for bed bugs.  However, we do sell aerosols with Propoxur.  We sell 250 Propoxur and Crack and Crevice II with Propoxur.  Both products have been discontinued and all that is left is what we have in stock.
