    Q
What is the correct mixing ratio for Sedge Ender to kill the nutsedge that is growing sporadically in my rock and mulch flower beds?
I want to use a 1 gallon multi purpose sprayer to spot treat and kill my nudsedge.
    A

The mixing ratio for Bonide Sedge Ender Concentrate is 5.5 oz per gallon of water for warm season turf. For cool season turf, the mixing ratio is 2.75 oz per gallon of water. Each of these will treat 1000 square feet. You should avoid spraying over-the-top of desirable ornamental plants with Bonide Sedge Ender since the Sulfentrazone could also damage ornamentals.

    Q
kill heavy concentrations of crabgrass n a bermuda lawn
Lawn has been "let go" and crabgrass is in large stalks and patches ten feet in diameter. What would be the ounces or tablespoons of concentrate per gallon of water using a pump up sprayer or a Gilmour sprayer. Will a surfactant help? How many applications and how often? Weather is HOT - mostly dry.
    A
You will use 5.5 fl. oz. of Bonide Sedge Ender Concentrate in a gallon of water. Per the label, do not add a surfactant. Depending on what you are treating for will depend on the number of application needed. It is not recommended to use more than 2.75 fl. oz. of product per gallon of water for subsequent treatments.

  • Asked by John from Kc, Mo Area
    06/23/2015
    Q
Bonide Sedge Ender Concentrate does not give clear directions on how to mix the product with water.
I have a normal Missouri lawn - bluegrass and fescue.
    A
As with most herbicides, the exact amount of water you dilute Bonide Sedge Ender Concentrate with is not important. It is only important to make sure you are using the correct amount of product per 1,000 sq ft of lawn. Use too much and you risk damaging your lawn, use too little and you will not get adequate results. You will need to use 2.75 - 5.5 oz per 1,000 sq ft., depending on what type of grass you have in the area you are treating. To decide how much water you want to use, you should mark a 1,000 sq ft area, fill your sprayer with water ONLY, and start walking and spraying just as if you were doing the actual application of herbicide. When you are done walking and spraying the 1,000 sq ft area note how much water it took you to spray that area, and that is the amount you will want to mix the required amount of Bonide Sedge Ender Concentrate with for each 1,000 sq ft area that needs to be treated.  Please consult the product label to find the specific amount necessary for your type of grass.

  • Asked by Stephanie from Wilmington, Nc
    10/15/2016
    Q
Why are you not supposed to spray Sedge Ender in beds with flowers? Will it kill the other plants?
We have already tried RoundUp with no results for our nutsedge problem.
    A

Bonide Sedge Ender Concentrate could harm desirable plants in beds, so it states on the label not to apply directly to landscape ornamentals or ornamental beds.  It should only be used to spot treat as needed in these areas.  Care should be taken to avoid spray or drift to these plants.

    Q
The product label for Bonide Sedge Ender Concentrate says to not store this herbicide once it has been mixed. Why is this?
    A

Once Bonide Sedge Ender Concentrate has been mixed with water, it must be used or disacarded within 24 hours.  The product will lose effectiveness and could damage your spraying equipment over time if left diluted in a sprayer.

  • Asked by Gail from Alpharetta, Ga

    Q
Is the Bonide Sedge Ender safe to use in a vegetable garden?
    A
We apologize but the Bonide Sedge Ender is only for use on home lawns and not in flower beds or vegetable gardens. This applies to most sedge control products on the market as well. Most of the time you have to spot treat where the sedge is coming up with a RoundUp type product like our Glyphosel Pro.
