Is this product safe and effective for indoor bird mite infestations?
SePro Akari 5Sc Miticide/Insecticide is only labeled to be used in and on greenhouse and nursery ornamnetals, greenhouse cucumbers, greenhouse tomatoes, nonbearing fruit trees and vines, Christmas trees, and interior ornamental plantings and plantscapes. It is not labeled for bird mites.
We would recommend using a product like EcoVia EC. It is labeled for mites and can be used indoors as well. It is made with botanical oils. You will use 1-2 oz. per gallon of water. Thoroughly spray all cracks and crevices where insects may hide or enter the building. Some of these areas include baseboards, floorboards, corners, around water and utility pipes, behind and under refrigerators, cabinets, sinks, behind and beneath equipment and appliances, around floor drains, window and door frames and other possible pest harborage sites. Do not apply directly to house plants. Cover/avoid any pools or aquaria prior to spraying.
