Can I use Orthene 97 Spray Insecticide to treat thrips on my okra garden (about half an acre)?

I'm helping my son with a summer crop of okra. He noticed tiny holes in the young leaves of our plants and says they're caused by thrips. Will Orthene work? Is it good for vegetables?

Orthene 97 Spray Insecticide is not labeled for use on okra plants. We would recommend Conserve SC for thrips on okra and other listed crops. Please see the product label for complete application instructions.
