Can I use Shockwave Fogging Concentrate to kill termites, and can I use it in a fogger system in my attic?

We have a small amount of termites showing up in our attic trusses. Can we use this product in a fogger system in our attic? What would be the ratio of the Shockwave to water? Finally, how long will your fogger unit run when filled?

Answer:

Shockwave is not labeled for termites in any way, and fogging is not recommended for them as this method only kills what is out in the open at the time you use it and termites are actually inside wood not out in the open. For treating active infestations of termites you will need to treat the wood they are infesting directly. This can be be done with a product like Boracare if you are treating for drywood termites, or Termidor which is good for subterranean termites and drywood. If you are dealing with subterranean termites it is also recommended to do a trench around the home for prevention and treatment. We have some great advice here if you click through the Identify, Inspect, Treat, and Prevent on the top blue bar.
