Can you provide recommendations for timing for coring/reseeding, pre-post emergent herbicides, dethatching, and fertilizing in Fescue turf in Zone 7B in NC?

In transition zone 7b with tall fescue (mostly), confused re following warm vs cool grass maintenance schedules.

Answer:

We generally recommend that transition areas such as yours follow the Cool Season Grasses Lawn Care Schedule. The time frame for pre-emergents is between March-May. We generally recommend putting this down when the soil temperature is at least 55 degrees Fahrenheit. Pre-emergents can also be done August-November as well to control spring/winter weeds. Post emergents can be used between May to October while weeds are actively growing. Detatching can be done between March to May. Fertilization can be done between March-November. Reseeding will depend on the pre-emergent product that you use.
