Would this product help with carpenter ant mounds in my yard? I have used a Home Depot product and the ants simply close shop on one mound and open another. Our first question for you is are you sure they are carpenter ants? Carpenter ants are not mound building ants like other ants are. They typically nest in wood or insulation that has had moisture damage, or in trees, stumps, and other natural places. They are not known to build mounds, at least it is not very common. What you are describing sounds like fire ants which can sometimes be confused for carpenter ants. It is important to properly identify them because they require different treatments.
