    Q
What hand held sprayers can I use diesel fuel for use with Garlon 4?
I use diesel fuel as a carrier for Garlon 4
    A

We do not recommend that you use gasoline or ethanol in any sprayer because of their flash points. We did speak to the manufacturers of the two lines of sprayers we carry and both said that while they cannot truly recommend a sprayer for your needs because of liability issues, some professionals do use the Chapin 3.5 Gallon Concrete Sprayer 1949 to spray diesel fuel.

    Q
I bought the plastic nozzle that has four spray sizes and it seems to have gotten clogged. How do I unclog?
Also, I noticed that the Timbor powder did not mix well with cold water. Is it necessary to mix it in a separate container before putting it in the sprayer?
    A
Usually, you can use a toothpick to unclog the nozzle or some other small rod type tool.  Also, you can soak the nozzle in hot water to help dislodge anything in the nozzle.  As far as the Timbor, you should always mix the Timbor in a separate bucket first and it helps greatly to use warm or hot water.  Once dissolved and mixed, you can pour it in your sprayer and use right away.  Do not leave the Timbor mixture in your sprayer overnight or it can settle and clog the hose or nozzle.

    Q
Do I need to purchase a different nozzle for the Chapin Premier 1 gal 21210 sprayer for indoor use?
Would the .1 gpm fan nozzle be better for spraying indoors than the adjustable one included with the sprayer? I will be spraying Suspend SC.
    A
The adjustable nozzle that is included with the Chapin Premier 1 gallon sprayer 21210 works very well for both indoor and outdoor use and it is not necessary to replace it with another nozzle.

  • Asked by Kristi from Camden, Sc
    02/22/2018
    Q
How does cap style affect pressure release when opening the Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Sprayer?
When unscrewing the cap, does the pump assembly release pressure & mist up onto the hand, or does the cap fit over the opening so any mist expulsion is directed downward...like the old LESCO type sprayers?
    A

The Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Sprayer has a pressure relase valve. You just need to turn it to release the pressure from the tank before opening it. Once this is done, you can safely open the sprayer.

    Q
Does the Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Sprayer 21220 drip when used at the fine mist or fan setting?
I have an application that requires a fine mist. Most product that produce a fine mist also require high pressure in the ranges of 90psi and above. Will the nozzle on the Premier 2 gallon sprayer provide a very fine mist without the spattering of droplets?
    A
The Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Sprayer will reach about 40psi. We have not had any complaints from customers that when used at the fine mist setting they had dripping issues.

  • Asked by Theresa from Foothill Ranch, Ca
    10/24/2011
    Q
How small of a hole will the spray go through on the Chapin sprayer?
I will be using this with the Boracare to treat an indoor infestation. I have holes in the wall where the termites have appeared, and I want to know how big a hole I will need to drill to treat the area with this spray nozzle.
    A
The sprayer comes with an adjustable nozzle and typically when applying product in the situation you are describing, you would turn the nozzle so it shoots a pin stream from the wand and you can just place the nozzle right up to the hole.  You should only have to use a 1/4 of an inch drill bit to accommodate the stream.

  • Asked by Lois from Ripon, Wi

    Q
What is wrong if the Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Sprayer has pressure, but it does not spray anything?
    It seems to be clogged.
    A

Be sure that you have properly assembled the Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Sprayer #21220XP. You may especially want to check the siphon tube inside the tank that is responsible for the uptake of liquid inside the sprayer. You should also check the hose connection, and be sure the nozzle is not screwed in too tightly. If you are still experiencing trouble, you can also contact Chapin Customer Service at 850-950-4458 M-F 8a-5p EST.

    Q
Can you tell by looking at the sprayer how much product you are using? I have a lot of holes to drill.
I need to know how much I am putting in the hole.
    A
The sprayer does not have lines that are easy to see because it is a much heavier duty sprayer with a thicker tank that will last longer.   There is another way that companies use to fill holes.  If you take a gallon milk jug, or a mason jar that is quart size depending on how much liquid you want in each hole, and time how long it takes to fill that container, then that is how long you hold down the trigger to the sprayer for each hole.  If you need to put 1/2 gallon in each hole and it takes you 25 seconds to fill up the milk jug half way, then you hold the sprayer over each hole for 25 seconds.

  • Asked by Kenny from Tucson Az

    Q
Is this or the one gallon sprayer a good replacement for the B&G 1 gallon stainless steel sprayer?
The one most proffesionals (pct) use?
    A
Both the Chapin 1 gallon and 2 gallon premier sprayer are fantastic homeowner grade sprayers. B&G sprayers are made to last 30-40 years with everyday use while the Chapin Premier sprayers typically last for around 5 years. The decision to use the 1 gallon sprayer vs the 2 gallon sprayer is a personal choice based on the weight you feel comfortable carrying and how often you would like to refill the sprayer.

    Q
Does a hose hook up to this sprayer?
This is a 2 gallon sprayer. One bottle of Termidor makes 24 gallons. Does a hose hook up to this sprayer? If not, I would have to fill this sprayer 12 times to do 60 lineal feet. Am I correct? If a hose does not hook up to this, I would be better off using a large bucket.
    A
You should read our "How To Do a Termite Treatment Article".  It explains how you as a homeowner should treat your home.  It does recommend using a 5 gallon bucket.  The Chapin Premier Sprayers do not work using a hose.  This sprayer, as all the other sprayers on our site are hand pump sprayers and would need to be filled multiple times to treat a termite trench.  Please read the article and feel free to call us with any questions.

Can I use vinegar and salt in the Chapin Premier 2 Gallon Sprayer (#21220XP)?
