Confront Herbicide

FOR COMMERCIAL USE ONLY. Not Labeled for Residential Use.

This product cannot be used on residential turf. It is a professional grade product. Please do not purchase unless you are familiar with applying commerical herbicide products.

Confront is a non-phenoxy specialty herbicide that is ideal for high-use areas including golf courses, parks, commercial grounds and other public facilities. Confront Herbicide is broad-spectrum and controls over 35 difficult-to-manage broadleaf weeds. Broad-spectrum control can be achieved with just one treatment, saving the product and labor costs of repeat treatments. Confront is labeled for use on most established cool and warm-season turfgrasses, including Bahiagrass, Bentgrass, Bermudagrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, Kentucky Centipedegrass, Creeping Red Fescue, Chewing Fescue, Fescue, Ryegrass and Zoysiagrass.

Application Directions

Make application using equipment that will insure uniform coverage. Sprays should be applied when weeds are actively growing. Application under drought conditions may provide less than desirable results. Broadleaf weed species germinate at different times. Only emerged weeds present at time of application are controlled.

Apply 1 to 2 pints of Confront per acre to control broadleaf weeds. A maximum of 0.19 lb ae clopyralid/0.56 lb ae triclopyr per acre (2 pints of Confront per acre) per application is recommended. To minimize turfgrass injury, repeat applications, if required, should be made not less than 4 weeks apart. Newly seeded turf should be mowed 2 or 3 times before treating. Do not water for 6 hours after application.

Spot Treatment of Ornamental Turfgrass Using Portable Sprayers - Mix 0.5 fl. oz. of Confront in enough water to make 1 gallon of spray and apply at any time broadleaf weeds are susceptible by wetting foliage of undesirable plants to point of runoff. This is enough spray to treat approximately 1,000 sq. ft. of turf.

Results of Confront are amazing so far on Virginia Buttonweed. It has scoffed at other products and most kill large areas, whereas Confront has little collateral damage when used on a mixture of Bermuda and Centipede. The warmer days of spring seem to rapid the kill. I have fought this battle with this particular weed for 18 years and I must have missed the memo on "Confront." One application at 1 pt./A. or 4 tbls per 1 gal water in a pump sprayer (strong) is working fantastic for spot treatments. Now the final test of time to see if this pestilence comes back or is finally gone in the areas we have treated. Very, very happy so far!!!

4 of 5 stars  Worth the cost
By Phecky in Northern Virginia on 09/07/2011

Weeds that scoff at the "Trimec" herbicides will wilt away after absorbing Confront. Clovers, Oxalis, Lespediza, ground ivy, wild violets, spurge, etc. These traditional tougher to control weeds that don't respond to older herbicide chemistry usually start to curl up in 24 hours after absorbing Confront. Then within 5-7 days start to just vanish. I have noticed that Dandelion will turn reddish in color, but may not be killed with the first application. That is a little odd considering how easy dandelion succumbs to Trimec.

1 of 5 stars  Works, but...
By Frank in Bozeman, MT on 12/31/2011

This stuff works great for its intended purpose, but do not use treated vegetation as a garden mulch or in compost if you plan on growing beans, peas, sunflowers, potatoes, tomatoes or carrots. The residual herbicide will severely inhibit their growth.

5 of 5 stars  Confront WORKS!

I used this on Virginia Buttonweed, and after 1 week it was completely gone! It destroyed some small areas of clover as well. I was skeptical at first due to the price, but it was so worth it. This is the only thing I know that works against virginia buttonweed.

5 of 5 stars  See Ya Creeping Charlie!
By Aimee in Siasconset, MA on 05/31/2014

I bought this to use in the fall of '13. Sprayed all of our accounts that had creeping charlie (and our property too, 1 acre of this nightmare). I am SOOOOOO happy to report it is GONE! BYE! It's June 2014 and it's gone!!! Do not miss you Mr.Creeping Charlie! My husband and I have a small landscape company that has been passed down 3 generations. Creeping Charlie wasn't around years ago and then it took off on our island. I have tried Trimec (doubling the douse) and many others. Trimec is great for your average weed but CC is a nightmare! Worse than Poison Ivy or Bittersweet Vine! Thank you for the best prices, free shipping and ZERO problems! I will order again from here again for sure!!! Thank you!!!

We do have a broad selection of products that are labeled to eliminate ground ivy which you can find on our website by using our search feature (top left hand side of each page) and searching "ground ivy". QIs Confront safe for use on our well-established St. Augustine lawn?
We have a nutsedge problem. Image has not worked. A lawn service rep (who knows our lawn) highly recommended confront. The product came today--thanks for the speedy service. The label does not specify St. Augustine.

AConfront Herbicide should NOT be applied to St. Augustine turf or residential lawns per the product label.

Southern Ag Basagran Sedge Control is labeled to treat for nutsedge in St. Augustine grass and would not harm the grass.  Though our most popular product for nutsedge in the Sedgehammer Herbicide.  It can be used in St. Augustine as well.

Have what we call dollar weed on topsail island and Confront controls it. Have added to landscaping and the weed has popped up . Can I spray the beds and then in a couple of days plant flowers, shrubs etc as long as we don't disturb the soil too much

AYou cannot use Confront on a flower bed in the same season you plan to plant flowers as damage may occur to the plants.

QWill Confront kill crown vetch? The vetch has grown over the juniper ground cover.
I am at my wits end with this invasive!

AWhile Confront is labeled to control vetch it is not labeled for use on juniper. We have reached out to a few industry field experts to see if they can make a recommendation for you and hope to hear back soon from them.
