    Q
Since this is Spinosad based, is it organic? If not, what's in it that keeps if from being organic?
It is safe for vegetables, correct?
    A

Spinosad wil not persist in the environment. Sunlight and soil microbes break it down into carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen. It is classified as an organic substance by the USDA National Organic Standards Board that is safe to be used on vegetables as labeled. Conserve SC itself is not OMRI or NOP approved. We also sell Natural Guard Spinosad Landscape and Garden RTS, which is certified organic.

  • Asked by Pat
    04/07/2015
    Q
How do you use Conserve SC on fire ant mounds? How quickly does it work on fire ant mounds?
    A

Conserve SC can be applied as a mound drench to treat fire ants. Per the product label:

Dilute Conserce SC at a rate of 0.1 oz. per gallon of water.

"Apply diluted Conserve SC to individual fire ant mounds as a drench application. Use 1 to 2 gallons per mound depending upon the mound size. For mounds less than 8 inches in diameter, use 1 gallon of dilution per mound. Use a higher volume, up to 2 gallons, on mounds 8 inches or larger in diameter. Apply approximately 10% of the dilution volume around the perimeter of the mound out to about 12 inches and pour the remaining volume directly on the mound. Do not disturb mounds prior to application. If possible, apply following a recent rainfall. For best results, apply in cool weather, 65 to 85 degrees F, or in early morning or late evening hours. Treat new mounds as they appear. Do not use pressurized sprays as they may disturb the ants and cause migration, reducing control."

Conserve SC will start working by contact and ingestion within minutes of application, but more results will be evident within 1-3 days. Conserve SC will continue to work for up to 14 days after application.
