Product Overview

Contrac Soft Bait is a highly palatable soft bait that provides the perfect solution to your rodent control problem. It contains a powerful single-feed, second-generation anticoagulant Bromadiolone at a low toxicity level of 0.005% which effectively kills house mice, roof rats, cotton rats, meadow vole, Mexican wood rats, including Warfarin-resistant Norway rats. These pests may consume a lethal dose in one-night feeding and expect results within four to five days. It has undergone extensive research and comprehensive testing to ensure superb performance in rural, urban, residential, and commercial settings. It features a unique oil-based formula with an excellent blend of saturated and unsaturated fats, together with a comprehensive manufacturing process that guarantees maximum contact of the soft bait to the sachet to help increase bait acceptance. Its superior preservative packaging helps prevent the bait from freezing, melting, or accumulating molds. A 16 lb. bucket with 10g soft bait sachets.

Note: Due to California state restrictions, this product cannot be sold to California residents.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

USE RESTRICTIONS:

This may also be used in alleys. Do not place near or inside ventilation duct openings. Do not contaminate water, food, feedstuffs, food or feed handling equipment, or milk or meat handling equipment or surfaces that come into direct contact with food. When used in USDA inspected facilities, this product must be applied in tamper-resistant bait stations. Do not broadcast bait.

Burrow baiting with Contrac Soft Bait is prohibited.

SELECTION OF TREATMENT AREAS:

Determine areas where rats, mice, or meadow voles* will most likely find and consume the bait. Generally, these areas are along walls, by gnawed openings, in corners and concealed places, between floors and walls, beside burrows, or in locations where rats, mice, or meadow voles* or their signs have been seen. Protect bait from rain and snow. Remove as much alternative food as possible.

APPLICATION DIRECTIONS:

RATS:

Place 9 to 43 sachets per placement usually at intervals of 15 to 30 feet in infested areas. Maintain an uninterrupted supply of fresh bait for at least 10 days or until signs of rat activity cease.

MICE AND MEADOW VOLES*:

Place 1 to 2 sachets per placement usually at intervals of 8 to 12 feet in infested areas. Up to 6 sachets may be needed at points of very high activity. Maintain an uninterrupted supply of fresh bait for at least 15 days or until signs of mouse or meadow vole* activity cease.

FOLLOW-UP:

Replace contaminated or spoiled bait immediately. Wearing gloves, collect and dispose of all dead, exposed animals and leftover bait. To prevent reinfestation, limit sources of rodent food, water, and harborage as much as possible. If reinfestation does occur, repeat treatment. Where a continuous source of infestation is present, establish permanent bait stations and replenish as needed.

Bait may be removed from sachet and placed in a feeding device that secures the unwrapped bait in a bait station. Discard empty wrapper in the trash.

* Not permitted for use against the following species in California: Cotton rat, Eastern harvest mouse, Golden mouse, Polynesian rat, Meadow vole, White-throated woodrat, Southern plains woodrat, and Mexican woodrat

    Many observations, few conclusions

    By Thomas on 08/27/2019

    Verified Purchase

I discovered l had a rat problem under the floor of a mobile home l was working on in late March, 2019. I went thru 8 pounds of Selontra in 3 sations of 3 baits each in about 2 months. No let up in consumption. When that ran out l ordered a 16 pound bucket of Contrac thinking the high percentage of anticoagulant might be the way to win the war. Presumably, success in a rat eradication program would be an initial acceptance of the bait followed by a steady reduction of consumption, and reduction of other signs of activity. Acceptance was off the charts. The 16# bucket is now light. Eventually l duobled and even tripled the nightly dosage thinking l was still at a sublethal rate. Rodents love this stuff. Even if rats were coming from miles around in the time frame here l should have been tripping over 90+ dead rats. I never saw or otherwise detected any. Recently l added new stations and Fastrac Blox while still using Contrac sachets as a lure. (Rat people aren't the best spellers!). It's de-bait-able (oh boy) whether rats perfer old bait in new stations or new bait in old stations. Early results look like the nerve agent in Blox is doing some damage but they like Contrac better. One conclusion on Contrac: when it came off the hot Fed Ex van the contents were very oily and soon covered my rubber gloves when loading the stations. Keeping the bucket in the "beer fridge" solidified the oil and handling the sachets with a dedicated pair of long nose pliers solved that problem entirely.

Awesome stuff they did their book work with making something mice and rats love to eat. This soft bait is always eaten up before the other baits get touched.

    Not getting results

    By Lancho on 07/03/2023

The blocks seem to have a large enough dose to knock out the rodents. These packets are being eaten with no results. The blocks were taking out squirrels, possums and coons as well
