Cy-Kick Aerosol - 17.5 oz.

CyKick Aerosol is a Crack & Crevice Residual insecticide that offers a fast knockdown of insect pests. Cy-Kick "residual" means that the aerosol leaves a film that keeps on killing for weeks. The aerosol formulation of Cy-Kick is designed for residential and commercial applications where crack and crevice, spot and void treatments are needed. The low odor formulation of Cy-Kick Aerosol makes it a perfect application choice for indoor residential treatment sites, food handling and sensitive areas. Cy-Kick Aerosol is labeled for many common pests typically found in and around structures, including spiders, bed bugs, ants, roaches, beetles, centipedes, millipedes, scorpions, earwigs, boxelder bugs, silverfish, pantry pests, and more.

Both Cy-Kick Aerosol and Cy-Kick CS Aerosol contain the same amount of Cyfluthrin, however the CS Aerosol formulation has more of a foaming effect and has different labeling due to the micro-encapsulated formulation. Be sure to read the product labels to determine which product is best for your application needs.

How Cy-Kick Aerosol Works

Cy-Kick Aerosol is a ready-to-use pressurized insecticide with the active ingredient Cyfluthrin. Cyfluthrin is a synthetic pyrethroid made to mimic the effects on insects of naturally occurring pyrethrins, which are derived from the Chrysanthemum flower. Cyfluthrin attacks the central nervous system of target pests that come into contact with the direct spray or dried residual of Cy-Kick Aerosol.

Target Pests

Ants, bed bugs, roaches, crickets, millipedes, earwigs, scorpions, silverfish, spiders, ticks, wood-destroying pests (localized treatments)

PESTS CONTROLLED: Ants, Bed Bugs, Booklice, Boxelder Bugs, Carpenter Ants, Carpenter Bees, Centipedes, Chocolate Moths, Clover Mites, Cluster Flies, Cockroaches, Crickets, Dermistids, Drugstore Beetles, Earwigs, Elm Leaf Beetles, Flour Beetles, Grain Weevils, Millipedes, Scorpions, Silverfish, Sowbugs, Spiders, Springtails, Termites, Ticks, Trogoderma (Cabinet, Khapra, and Warehouse Beetles), Wood-infesting Borers and Beetles, Wood Wasps

Target Uses of Cy-Kick Aerosol

Cy-Kick Aerosol is designed for residential and commercial accounts where applications for crack and crevice, spot and void treatments are needed. The effective control of Cy-Kick Aerosol can be utilized in sensitive environments such as restaurants, office buildings, nursing homes, hotels, in public areas and for perimeter treatments where drift may be a concern. This ready-to-use aerosol product is a convenience that everyone with time constraints can appreciate. Spot and localized perimeter applications can be treated quickly, reducing the need for expensive application equipment and eliminating mix and measure products. Residual lasts for up to six weeks.

Cy-Kick Aerosol is an easy-to-use treatment for control of many common pests, including ants, roaches, silverfish, boxelder bugs, carpenter bees, millipedes, scorpions, spiders, wood wasps, and spot treatments of wood-destroying pests. Plus, Cy-Kick Aerosol can be use in food and non-food areas of food-handling establishments and on modes of transport. Do not use Cy-Kick Aerosol on plants or on sensitive surfaces that have been varnished or painted.

Both Cy-Kick Aerosol and Cy-Kick CS Aerosol contain the same active ingredient, however Cy-Kick CS Aerosol will have more of a foaming action and is labeled for different applications. For example, only Cy-Kick Aerosol is labeled for wood-destroying pests.

Application Instructions for Cy-Kick Aerosol

Use with the supplied actuator and injection tubes or other aerosol equipment. Inject into cracks and crevices or void spaces where insects may be harboring, living and breeding. Place injector tip into cracks, crevices, holes, and other small openings. Release approximately 1 second of product. Move injector tip along cracks while treating at a rate of 1-3 feet per second, depending on level of infestation.

In closed voids, treat at the rate of 1-5 seconds/3 cubic feet. Several holes may be required in long-running voids.

For spot treatments, use with the supplied actuator and injection tubes or other similar equipment. Hold container upright while spraying. Direct nozzle approximately 12” from surface to be treated. Apply directly on insects in these locations when possible.

Wood Destroying Insects Indoors and Outdoors: Cy-Kick Aerosol can be used to treat localized areas for wood-infesting insects such as beetles and borers, carpenter ants, carpenter bees, termites and wood wasps. Locate suspected infestation and/or insect tunnels and cavities. Drill pilot holes into insect tunnels, galleries and inaccessible closed voids. Drill holes 8-10” apart to ensure thorough coverage. Inject 5-10 seconds per hole. This treatment is for localized termite infestations only, to kill workers or winged reproductive forms which may be present in the treated channels at the time of treatment.

Yield will vary with user and application needs since this is a ready-to-use product.

Standard Application Rates

  • Release approximately 1 second of product per application
  • Rate of 3 feet/second – light infestations
  • Rate of 1 foot/second – heavy infestations
  • 1-5 seconds per 3 cubic feet – closed void treatments

5 of 5 stars  The best stuff ever!
    By Mark on 08/26/2009
    Verified Purchase

Last year I had to get let go of my pest control company because they would only show up when nobody was home and thus the inside of my house would never get inspected or serviced. I found out that my company's pest control service uses Cy-Kick Aerosol in our workplace. I bought it from DoMyOwnPestControl.com (thank goodness that they sold it, since I could not find it anywhere else). This product works great. It takes me less than 45 minutes to perform my own inside service and my results are better than when I used a pest control company!

5 of 5 stars  Something worked
By Suzanne in New Orleans, LA on 04/29/2011

Had pantry moth infestation for almost a year now and cleaned out my pantry twice. Finally bought the traps and this aerosol and followed the directions and I have only seen and killed 3 moths. My trap had none. What I love is that the spray with the long nozzle is very powerful and very accurate so it was very easy for a short person to spray even where I couldn't reach. No odor noticed and I don't know if I did a great job cleaning up or if this spray did its job BUT this is a MUST buy after if you want to stop the cycle.

5 of 5 stars  Did the job for me!
    By Jayson on 08/16/2008

National pest control company used this product to kill spiders outside. I have tons of spiders around the doors. I would walk out the door and walk though spider webs. 30 mins later the webs would be rebuilt and I would walk through them again. Spiders were bad, but Cy-Kick aerosol did the job. Not one spider has been seen since. I decided to DoMyOwnPestControl and ordered this product. Spider free for now! The residual effects of this product is excellent.

I used CY-Kick for roaches in my kitchen. This the best of all the product i had used. The first week i saw a big difference, i could see just a few roaches in some areas, and on the second week i see just one or two some days. I will need to do the second treatment which i belief will clear off any left. I so far had used it once and still have alot left in the canister.

I only treated one can of this stuff tho see if it will have any impact of these roaches. I'm not sure what type of German roaches these are but they are done kid pig super breed. The knock down feature was impressive but again a can of raid does the same. I was looking for more of a residual kill and for a week it seem to have an affect but that was it.

  • 5 of 5 stars  It works!
By Donna in Lake Worth, Florida on 04/27/2017

I have been plagued with American cockroaches since moving to South Florida 7 years ago. I decided that I'd had enough, and was ready for all-out battle. I sprayed Cy-Kick in all cabinets, and on the floor in random locations. The next morning I found a dozen cockroaches lying on their backs in varying degrees of "making their transition". I had no idea that there were that many in my home. I have since found a few others, again on their backs. I finally feel that I have control over the situation, and that my living space is more sanitary. Thank you! One caveat - the spray is narrow and tended to puddle or land in large drops. I spread it around with plastic bags to thin it for faster drying. Love the product!

  • 4 of 5 stars  Cy-Kick Aerosol
By Claire in Brooklyn NY on 09/07/2016

Best spray I could get legally in NYC. Far superior to anything from hardware store. Saw immediate results. But still think one has to fight roaches from many angles and supplement with traps and gels. Also sprays require empty cabinets. Whcih may be a good thing --forces me to take inventory and toss things. How I got myself into this roach mess is another story. Plus I did animal rescue, so it was impossible to eliminate food supply, which included litter boxes! Always-on, always-warm electronics (e.g., mircowave) attract roaches. Some seem to even like inert plastic Sometimes can dripped down side so I was frequently washing my hands. I always wash my hands and arms -- and face -- anyway after using spray.

QWhat product or procedures will get rid of bugs in my rice and pasta products?
I live in Florida and have a have a food storage pantry that I have typically stored rice, spaghetti, lasagne, and noodles in. I discovered bugs in my rice a few months ago, and soon found the same bugs in all my pasta products. I threw everything out, bought new products, and the bugs were back in everthing within days. I have since used or thrown products out again, and am buying in small quantities only and using product quickly, but still have the bugs from time to time. I can't get rid of them and they must be still in some products. I am worried that they could find their way through the house to my kitchen pantry. I use Taslstar P on a regular basis for my home protection, but obviously don't spray my shelves and food, only the baseboards. I need some suggestions on what to do or use to get rid of these bugs.

AFor pantry beetles or weevils you should remove everything from the cabinet, inspect every item, discard anything that is infested. Next you should thoroughly vacuum all cracks in the cabinet. Last, you can apply a product such as Cy-Kick Aerosol to all of cracks and crevices in the cabinet to help kill any hidden pupa as they emerge so that they cannot continue to re-infest products. After the cabinet has completely dried you can put food products back in the cabinet.

QCan this Cy Kick Aerosol be used indoors around small pets?
I have a small dog and will take her to a neighbors house when i spray but will it be safe for her after the product has dried for an hour or two?

AYes. Cy-Kick Aerosol can be used in a house where animals live, the animals just need to be out of the area that is being treated, and they can return as soon as the treated area is dry.

QWhat does the "CS" on Cy-Kick stand for?
I have a 20 oz aerosol can of Cy-Kick CS. When I search for that product it comes up with the concentrate that you have to mix. Also, I can't find it in 20oz cans online.

ACS stands for "capsulated suspension" or microencapsulated solution.  Microencapsulated products last a little longer than the normal version but are really only beneficial when used outside in direct sunlight or an area where there may be a lot of moisture.  The Cy-Kick CS version of the Cy-Kick aerosol that you are looking for is much more expensive.  Since most people use this product indoors, we have chosen to only offer the Cy-Kick aerosol version instead of the Cy-Kick CS aerosol version.  Both Cy-Kick aerosol and Cy-Kick CS aerosol have the same amount of active ingredient, Cyfluthrin .1%.

QIs Cy-Kick aerosol safe to use in a child's room?
Roaches seem to hide between the bed and wall. This is where I like to spray. My kids are wild sleepers and they tend to let their blankets fall in that area. My question is, if the blanket does fall could the Cy-Kick harm my kids if they then use the blanket? Is Cy-Kick safe once it is dry?

AFirst, you may want to consider thoroughly cleaning the area where roaches tend to congregate in your childs room, especially if your child eats in there. Second, if you are using the Cy-Kick Aerosol properly (please read the product label) then it is only being applied to the cracks and crevices around the room, not out in the open on the floor. By applying the product as specified on the product label, you limit the contact your children can have with it. And yes, once the product is dry it is safe for the kids to be around.

QWhat can I use to kill maggots in a storage room?
A rat died in a rat trap in there and now there are maggots.

A

You will want to clean out the storage room completely, remove any dead rodents, and locate the source of the maggots. Next, you can apply†Cy-Kick†aerosol to cracks and crevices.† This will leave a residual that keeps on killing for several weeks.

QI have tiny worms in my kitchen/cabinets and have treated with Cy-Kick Aerosol but still see some. What do i do?
I found tiny worms in my kitchen. They nested underneath my cabinets. We had to saw off the bottom of our cabinets to find their main area. I have taken everything out, vacumed, and wiped down with vinegar, had Orkin come spray, and sprayed Cy Kick 3 different times myself. With the last one being yesterday I still came home to find 2 more dead ones laying in my cabinets. It has been two months and I still have everything out of my cabinets. I desperately want these things gone and want to put my kitchen back together. What can I do?

A

Without knowing what pest in particular it is that you are finding the larvae/worm form of, its hard to say how many life cycles could potentially be in a crevice somewhere. That being said, as long as you are continuing to find only dead ones and you have any grains or food materials sealed up in air tight containers you can go back to using your cabinets regularly and just watch for any infested materials. Outside of that you could spray in the same cracks and crevices of the cabinets where you used the Cy Kick Aerosol and use Gentrol Aerosol IGR to help stop any reproductive cycle that might be occurring. Keep cleaning and looking for sources of the original infestation to make sure they have all been eliminated.

QWhat is best for Weevils in my kitchen
I recently discovered weevils in my kitchen. Sadly they were in almost every cabinet in my kitchen. They mainly nested underneath my stove and two cabinets. After spending two weeks taking everything out of my cabinets, vacuming, and cleaning, I have still seen a few come out. I had to destroy trim in my kitchen to get to their main nest. Before putting everyhing back and replacing the trim I want to use a product that will get to the eggs that i cannot reach or see to vacuum or clean. I also want a product that i can leave underneath the cabinets before I replace the trim. Then I have more peace of mind knowing that if any more come out or hatch they will have that there to take care of them or their eggs.

A

Pantry pests such as weevils can usually be controlled by a thorough cleaning out of all infested products and scrubbing of the infested areas (pay special attention to cracks and crevices) and then applying a residual insecticide such as Cy-Kick Aerosol to the cracks and crevices and also an insect growth regulator such as Gentrol Point Source to the cabinets.† Unfortunately there is nothing that will affect the eggs in the way you have described, but the growth regulator will help stop the breeding process. It can take a couple of months to fully eradicate a pantry pest infestation.

QDoes Cy-Kick Aerosol work to treat cigarette or drugstore beetles?
How fast are the results?

A

Yes, Cy Kick Aerosol is labeled to treat both cigarette and drugstore beetles. Apply into cracks and crevices where these pests may hibernate such as cabinets, pantries, baseboards, windows, etc. Cy Kick Aerosol offers fast knockdown and long lasting residual control of pantry pests. Depending on the level of infestation, you may reapply as a crack and crevice spray†every 10 days.

Insecticides alone are rarely effective in treating pantry pests, we would suggest using an attractant to help capture the male beetles. InVite Multi-Insect Lure†is a labeled for both cigarette and drugstore beetles and may be applied to a†glueboard†and placed in areas where grain products are stored. The InVite Insect Lure†label states it will remain active for 60-90 days and is recommended to be placed every 30 feet.

The keys to managing an infestation of cigarette or drugstore beetles include good sanitation, early detection and†locating and destroying infested materials. †Please see our How to Get Rid of Cigarette Beetles Article for suggestions on how to inspect for infested items. . †

QCan I use Cy-Kick Aerosol - 17.5 oz. around a bathroom sink?
It appears we have springtails coming out of the sink drain in our bathroom. Since it can't be sprayed directly down the sink, where should we be spraying? If they aren't coming out of the drain, I don't know where they're coming from.

A

Cy-Kick Aerosol - 17.5 oz.†can be applied to the cracks and crevices around the vanity and underneath sink. We recommend to make sure there are no water leaks around that area that could be attracting the Springtails.†

QCan I spray Cy-Kick Aerosol on fascia board for termites?
a termite company I saw would scrape the termite eaten wood out of the facia board, spray cy-kick aerosol, then Bondo it. Is that the right practice and how long would that last?

A

Cy-Kick Aerosol can be used to spot treat above-ground termites, but it will not kill the entire colony unless all the termites are sprayed directly or come into contact with the treated area. Please see our Drywood Termite Treatment Guide for more information.

QCan I use Harmonix Insect Spray for Rice or Grain Weevils wandering through my kitchen at night?
I find them in the cats water bowl in the morning. We had some weevils in dried beans in our pantry which is 8 feet from the kitchen. Are the weevils coming from the pantry area and wandering around or do they set up residence in other parts of the house such as kitchen or pet feeding areas. To what extent do I spray and what would be the dilution rate?

A

It is possible that you are dealing with Gran weevils and they could have been inside the bag of dried beans. It is important to clean the area and get rid of any spilled grains. Harmonix Insect Spray will only provide you with a contact kill but will leave no residual, which is what you need since eggs and larvae can be found inside cracks and crevices of kitchen cabinets, pantry, etc. For better results we would recommend using products that provide you with a residual such as Cy-Kick Aerosol or D-Force HPX.
