    Q
What is the best product for killing box elder bugs?
    A
We have numerous products that are labeled for killing box elder bugs that work excellent.  Demand CS is definitely one of our most popular and will work great on box elder bugs.  In addition, Demand CS is labeled for almost any other insect you could have an issue with and can be used safely indoors as well as outdoors.  It also has a long residual which lasts up to 90 days.  It would be a great choice.

    Q
What is the best product for a tick infestation?
I live in Hawaii and due to the year round warmth, ticks are EVERYWHERE. I absolutely loathe ticks, but somehow my home has become their home too. I have a dog who is on Biospot Flea and Tick treatment, but it doesn't seem to work so we're switching to Frontline or Advantix. Yesterday, I found seven ticks in my home, two of which were already engorged, so they've been feeding. I believe they're brown dog ticks from the pictures I've found. The two engorged ones were on wall and floor, and the others have been on blankets, baseboards, floor, and in the shower. My husband sprayed the yard with Ortho Max about a 3 weeks ago and they're already back. I believe it's the dog bringing them in from the yard and my husband on his uniform since he's in the Army and is always going to the ranges and laying down in the grass and dirt. From what I've read, Demon WP seems to be the hardest hitting for ticks and is safe for indoor and outdoor use, as well as pet friendly when dry. I'm also looking at Demand CS and Talstar P (Talstar One), and Permetherin SFR 36.8%. Talstar P actually had a 5 star review for killing off brown dog ticks. What is the best product for my situation? I would like to only treat outdoors if possible, but indoors may be necessary too. I want to completely disintegrate these ticks. Any other bug I can handle, but not ticks. We also have centipedes in Hawaii (HUGE ones), and although there haven't been any in my home, I'd like to use something that works for them too, just in case. Thank you so much.
    A

Demon WP or Demand CS would be great choices for tick control. A wettable powder (Demon WP) or a microencapsulated formulation (Demand CS) might offer the best chance of particles of the active ingredient clinging to the ticks as they move across the surface. Demand CS may be the best choice for you because it does not leave a visible residue like the Demon WP can. Ideally, the indoor application would be made into every possible crevice in the room where the female ticks could go, but this could be a daunting effort. Try to picture where the ticks will wander for a place to hide, such as behind floor molding would be an obvious one. They might get up under stuffed furniture, behind pictures on the walls, inside dressers and other items in your home. All of these areas should be treated. We recommend using an IGR such as Archer IGR in combination with the insecticide that you choose. IGRs (insect growth regulators) will interrupt the growth cycle of juvenile ticks which will stop them from being able to mate and lay eggs. We also recommend using an insecticide dust such as Pyganic dust. Dusts have a much longer residual than liquids and they can be applied inside of wall voids where ticks may hide.

For outdoor areas, you use the combination of insecticide and IGR.Tie a white cloth to a stick or broom handle and  drag the cloth around over the lawn and grassy areas, and examine the cloth for ticks, which will latch onto the material as it passes by. Areas where ticks are found can be can be treated. You should also treat any tall growth or shrubs.

    Q
If using outdoors, how many sq feet does one bottle of Demand CS cover?
    A
How large of an area Demand CS covers outside is all dependent on what you are treating for, how strong you mix it, and how thick the ground cover is you are spraying it on.  An 8 ounce bottle of Demand CS will treat anywhere from 10,000 sq. feet to 40,000 sq. feet.  You should read the product label for exact calculations based on your specific situation.

The best all around spray for general use
What ever the gentleman that took care of our place before we relocated used was excellent. It was safe for pets and it had no odor. Is seemed to last foreever we would find dead insects on the floor up to a year later. He sprayed the same thing inside and outside the house and garage and we had no issues. I would love to find something like that. I have been reading but now I am confused.
    A
Demand CS would be a great choice for general pest control. It will hold up well to UV rays and rain and because it is a micro-encapsulated it works a little bit like a time released formula.  Of course it will only kills those pests that contacted a treated surface so flying insects will always be a little bit harder to kill versus the crawling ones but Demand will take care of just about anything!

    Q
What's the difference between Temprid FX and Demand CS?
    A

Temprid FX combines the fast-acting power of beta-cyfluthrin 10.5% and the transferal power of imidacloprid 21% (two powerful active ingredients). Demand CS containing lambda-Cyhalothrin 9.7% is a product that has micro-encapsulated technology, which means it leaves thousands of micro particles that bind to the surface offering long-term protection and fast insect knock-down. Both of these great insecticides can be used on a large variety of insects in many settings.

Can I spray Demand CS in my vegetable garden?
I have previously used it in my giant pumpkin patch.
    A
No, Demand CS is not for use in a vegetable garden. We do carry Cyonara Lawn and Garden, which is labeled for several different vegetable plants and contains the same active ingredient as Demand CS. We also carry Malathion 57%, our most popular edible vegetation product.

    Q
Will Demand CS kill carpenter ants?
    A

Yes, Demand CS will kill carpenter ants that come in contact with a treated surface. It is micro-encapsulated, so it works like a time released formula. For carpenter ant control specifically, we would recommend our Indoor Carpenter Ant Kit. The kit contains professional pest control products to control carpenter ants found inside structures, including two baits that contain different formulations and active ingredients to increase bait acceptance and efficacy. To control carpenter ants around the exterior of your home, Taurus SC will do the trick. You would mix 0.8 fl. oz. of Taurus SC per gallon of water and apply using a hand-pump sprayer around the outside of the home, spraying 1 foot up the side of the house and 1 foot out from the house, all the way around the home.

    Q
Will Demand CS get rid of wasps around house?
    A
Demand CS is labeled for eradicating wasps. Concentrates are not considered to be contact kills, especially for wasps.  Even if you got close enough with a hand pump sprayer, which do not spray that far, the spray would not kill a wasp fast enough.  They would die, but not right away.  You can spray surfaces so when bees land on the surface they will pick up the spray and die, but they will not die right away.  The only product that provides a fast knockdown of larger flying insects like wasps and hornets is Wasp Freeze, which comes in an aeorosl can but it shoots over 15 feet so you can knock them down from a safe distance. Demand CS will leave a 30 day residual to the treated surfaces. Most folks do not want to have to spray down every bee or wasp in a nest with the wasp and hornet spray so they apply a dust such as Tempo Dust or Delta Dust which will knockdown even those insects that usually do not come out of the nest. The nests should be treated in the evening when the wasps are the least active for your safety.

    Q
What is the shelf life of Demand CS and Equil Lambda?
    A
Almost all of the liquid insecticides can last up to 5 years on the shelf as long as you keep the lid on and keep the bottle out of direct sunlight and keep it from deep freezing in the winter.  You should shake up or agitate the bottle every few months to prevent clumping in the bottle.

    Q
What is the shelf life of a gallon of Demand CS working solution?
Is it okay to make up a gallon to have on hand when needed, or does it not last long in solution?
    A

You should use diluted solution of Demand CS or other insecticide concentrates as soon as possible and within 24 hours. After this time, the active ingredient breaks down quickly in solution. Shelf life of the concentrate is 3-5 years when stored in a temperate environment out of direct sunlight.

What is the best product to use when trying to get rid of all bugs/insects?
I'm trying to get rid of roaches, spiders, small little grey bugs that keep coming out of no where. I've used some products from our near Lowes store and nothing seems to work, let alone last as long as they claim it's suppose to.

    Q
Can Demand CS only be used outdoors? Or outside only when treating fleas?
Why does the label advise you that the treatment for fleas is "for outdoors only?" I want to get rid of fleas inside my house. If Demand CS works outside for fleas, why wouldn't it work inside for fleas while you were treating for other types of pests (e.g. roaches)? Should I use a different product for fleas? I was hoping to find a single product for everything. Any thoughts?
    A
Demand CS is an excellent product for fleas, but the reason it is labeled for outside use only is because Demand CS is labeled to spray on the yard and large areas outside.  For inside the home, Demand CS is labeled to spray along baseboards, crack and crevices, and under appliances which is great for most insects but not for fleas.  Fleas can be in your carpet, on sofas, and on other areas where you cannot spray Demand CS because it is not labeled to be applied as a space spray or on areas that you come in contact with like your couch, chairs, pet bedding, etc.  We do have products that are labeled for fleas and for indoors and these products work very well and more effectively for fleas inside the home.  Our most popular flea control products come in our Outdoor/Indoor Flea Control Kit.  It has a very high success rate when used properly and is safe to use indoors around children and pets. It also can be applied in both areas for treatment.
