    Q
Are IGRs safe around my pet cats?
Are IGR's safe around my pet cats? They spend a lot of time inside as they are all older pets. Can it be used in my car without damage to vinal?
    A
Demize Nylar IGR and IGR's in general are very safe around children and pets because they only effect small insects that go through a complete metamorphasis like fleas and roaches.  You should always keep pets and children out of the area while you are treating and then allow them to re-enter once the product has dried which usually takes about 30 minutes.  I do not believe there would be any issues applying this product in your vehicle.

    Q
Can I use the mixed solution of Demize Nylar IGR several days later?
The directions for mixing and using this stuff say not to let it stand overnight. What happens if I do? Does it become ineffective? Can I use a batch that I mixed up several days or a week later, if I shake it up good?
    A
The longer some concentrated liquids stay in a diluted form the faster they degrade, making them ineffective. Shaking the solution will not help the degraded products work any better. We recommend only mixing up what you can use at one time. Also, storing solutions in your sprayer will cause the seals and gaskets and other pieces in your sprayer to break down.

    Q
Is Demize Nylar IGR effective outdoors?
If so, how do I apply it? If not, will you recommend an outdoor treatment?
    A

Demize Nylar IGR is a product that is meant to treat fleas and roaches indoors.  Although you could use it outdoors, it is not recommended because it is not formulated to remain effective when it is in sunlight.  It breaks down very quickly.  We do carry another IGR product that is formulated for outdoors and is photo-stable called Archer IGR.  It works the same way as the Demize Nylar IGR, which is to prevent adult fleas and roaches from reproducing.  These products are effective in slowing down populations, but you should mix these products with a insecticide for faster knockdown of adult insects such as Conquer or Onslaught.  You can mix the Archer IGR and one of the other insecticide products I mentioned in a one gallon hand pump sprayer and apply it over your yard and landscape.  All of the products mentioned can also be used indoors as well.

    Q
Will Demize Nylar IGR work the 210 days to keep centipedes from coming in my home?
    A

Demize Nylar IGR will not work to keep centipedes out of your home. This product is an insect growth regulator that helps disrupt the breeding cycle of fleas and certain cockroaches only. Demize Nylar IGR is not an insecticide or an insect repellant. Demand CS would be a good choice to use around the outside of your home to eliminate centipedes. You should apply the product to door frames, window frames, places where utilities enter into the structure, around the bottom of the foundation and out onto the ground directly around the foundation. You can also limit favorable conditions that the centipedes need to thrive..

    Remove Favorabe Conditions

    • Fix leaky faucets or pipes and dry up wet or damp areas where centipedes thrive
    • Remove outdoor harborages near the home that hold moisture (compost, wood, or leaf piles, etc).
    • Store firewood off the ground at least 20 feet away from the home
    • Water your lawn in the morning so that it will be dry by afternoon
    • Do not over mulch flower beds, since soggy mulch is an ideal harborage for centipedes

    Q
    Does nylar work on silverfish?
    A
Unfortunately, Demize Nylar IGR is not specifically labeled for silverfish so we cannot say for certain if it will work. We are not aware of an IGR that is labeled to prevent the growth cycle of silverfish
