Excellent Product for hard to access locations

I recently ordered the Dustick Deluxe Kit along with Drione. We own a log home and every spring we have a problem with carpenter bees. In previous years I would buy an aerosol can of bee spray and use a "spray and caulk" method. The problem was that I could not access the out of reach areas that are higher up on our home.T he Dustick handles these areas extremely well. I can easily use the full extension and reach locations 20+ feet above my head. It disperses the Drione very well regardless of how many extensions you use. Admittedly, with all the extensions the Dustick gets a bit wobbly to control at first. My technique was to slide it up the wall as I added extensions. This helped avoid the wobbly balancing act I initially encountered. My only wish is that you would come up with an attachment that would enable me to insert a small cork into the carpenter bee openings. Drione followed by a cork is a standard method for combating carpenter bees. Right now I only can cork the areas lower down that are within reach. Thanks for making such a well built and helpful product. For anyone who will have a recurring need I recommend this product.

Dustick Deluxe

Fantastic! Works like a charm. I was able to kill lots of nests in places I was not able to reach even with ladders. It was nice to be able to remove all the old nests as well that were building up. This also works very well close to the ground with no sections attached. Well worth the money!!

Expensive, but worth it

The duster is the first tool that has allowed me to treat carpenter bee holes in the eves and upper logs of our home. The duster is easier to use than I anticipated, and the carrying case is functional for storage and transport between our log home and log cabin. The price truly caused a moment of "pause" but the recommendations from some fellow log home owners convinced me this was the right tool for the job. Hopefully this review will help overcome any reservations others might have about this pole, duster and scraper. I should note that I have not used the aerosol top.

Works

Works very well. Only needed 3 of the 4 attachments (20' reach includes my height). Strong, sturdy, I will use again if needed. This has been a very good product. Don't be shy about pressing the handle with force to achieve complete coverage in hole/ tunnels. It will shoot out the other end. May need to move tip at different angles to find which direction tunnel goes. Before sending up the black applicator shake to make sure dust is loose about 1/2 full at least. Reapply if needed but give it a couple days first if your application was good. Dusting is not immediate but results are quick. Would recommend this. Top heavy and not meant for reaching long horizontal sections with extensions (would go 2 sections to reach sideways about 10 feet). Have not used the sprayer attachment yet. When applying make sure you are personally covered as some dust will fall from above. Wore a hoodie, gloves, glasses, pants shoes and face covering. Avoid breezy/windy days if possible as the dust can carry.

I used to use the Dustick when I worked for a competing, national pest control company. Of course, most of the equipment there was dated, but still worked. However, Dustick made some improvements. The first I noticed was that the new stick that attaches to the scraper and other tools is now a different color than the rest of them, which makes it easier to find that pole section. The second that I like is that the pole sections have a smooth shaft. The only complaint that I have is that the sections do not rise very high, so it's difficult to use from the ground with higher eaves.
