Q
What is the depth required for the12"x12" access panel cutout?

I have a 12"x12" opening in a ceiling. However, I have less than a 1/2" thickness of drywall, and I have some framing studs that are ~11" oc. I purchased a different access panel for a 12"x12" opening, but I could not get it flush with the ceiling because of the studs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A
The depth required for the12"x12" access panel cutout will depend on the depth of the sheetrock the panel will be placed in. Normally, this depth is about ½ inch.
