  • Asked by Miguel from Conroe, Tx
    08/21/2017
    Q
Could Ferti-Lome Chelated Liquid Iron and Other Micro Nutrients be mixed with Ferti-Lome Weed Out with Crabgrass Killer?
    A

We would recommend keeping your herbicide and fertilizer applications separate so that you can get accurate application rates of both products. Also, you do not want to promote growth of the weeds that you are trying to kill.  Also, Ferti-Lome Weed Out with Crabgrass Killer causes yellowing on target plants, but Ferti-Lome Chelated Liquid Iron and Other Micro Nutrients is designed to correct yellowing.  This is another reason it would be better to separate the applications.

  • Asked by Jean from Irvine, Ca

    Q
Is Ferti-Lome Chelated Liquid Iron and Other Micro Nutrients safe to use on dymondia?
Trying to get rid of oxalis in my dymondia. I've real the chelated iron is supposed to kill the oxalis but I don't want to kill the dymondia too.
    A

There is actually not a way to remove the oxalis from your Dymondia without either harming both, or killing neither. The only way to control the oxalis is to either hand pick it out or spot spray with a round up type product like GlyPhoSel Pro and then replant more Dymondia in these spots to try and smother out the oxalis from being able to come back. We apologize that we couldn't provide you with a better solution. Please feel free to contact us if you have any other questions.

    Q
Can Ferti-Lome Chelated Liquid Iron and Other Micro Nutrients be used on pine trees? If so when should I apply and what is the mix rate recommended?
Pine trees showing some green and yellowing foliage.
    A

Ferti-Lome Chelated Liquid Iron and Other Micro Nutrients will correct iron deficiency (Yellowing of Foliage) in shade trees, shrubs, potted plants, citrus (including avocados and mangoes), vegetables and  flowers. During periods of heat and drought, pine tree needles can turn yellow and remain on the tree. There are various other factors that can cause yellowing of the needles. We suggest consulting with a local cooperative extension office Master Gardener and/or arborist for additional details for your needs with this specific tree and/or others on the property.
