    Q
    Is it considered organic?
If I spray this on my apple and peach tree, can I still consider my fruit to be organic?
    A
Ferti-Lome Fruit Tree Spray with Neem Py is not organic because it has a synergist in it. You could use something like Bayer Advanced Natria Multi-Insect Control that is all natural.

  • Asked by Scott from Hartland, Wi

    Q
After Ferti-Lome Fruit Tree Spray is used on a fruit tree can the wood from the tree be used for a smoker?
Would this product be considered safe to use if I intend to use any cut branches from the tree as a smoking wood in my bbq? If not, can you recommend one that can be used with this in mind?
    A
You would not want to burn any wood that has been treated with Ferti-Lome Fruit Tree Spray with Neem Py or any other insecticide. The manufacturers do not recommend this.  Any insecticide should not be breathed in, and when burned these toxins can become airborne. It would be suggested to not burn the wood.

  • Asked by Christine from Bartlesville, Oklahoma
    03/16/2018
    Q
How is Ferti-Lome Fruit Tree Spray with Neem Py around honey bees?
I have 6 hives on my property that needs to be protected. Is there another product that can be used on my fruit trees without harming the bees?
    A

Ferti-Lome Fruit Tree Spray with Neem Py is going to be a contact kill product with very little, if any, residual. Per the product label, "This product is toxic to bees exposed to direct treatment. Do not apply this product while bees are actively visiting the treatment area." Unfortunately, we do not have other products that are safe for use on fruit trees which would be considered more safe for use around bees with the same labeling. If you have caterpillars or other similar feeding worm stages of insects, then you could use a Bt product such as DiPel PRO DF Biological Insecticide. Bt only targets feeding larvae stages of listed insects and is not harmful to pollinators such as bees when used as directed.

  • Asked by Frank from Bancroft, Wi

    Q
Reccomendation for a fungicide and an insecticide for apple trees
    Location: Central Wisconsin
    A
Ferti-Lome Fruit Tree Spray with Neem Py is a multi-purpose spray that can be used up to the day of harvest as an insecticide, fungicide, and miticide. This product combines the natural power of Pyrethrins, with the synergist PBO, and Neem Oil to protect your plants. Apply Ferti-Lome Fruit Tree Spray with Neem Py early in the morning or late in the afternoon (or evening) for the best results. During these times the temperatures will be lower and direct sunlight will not be likely to cause leaf burn, and many insects will be resting underneath plant foliage

  • Asked by Martin from Alma, Ar
    06/21/2014
    Q
Can I add Insecticidal Soap as a tank mix?
    A
The Ferti-Lome Fruit Tree Spray with Neem Py product label does not mention anything about tank mixing.  We do not see a reason to mix it with Insecticidal Soaps as the Neem Oil in the product does the same thing as a soap by smothering an insect.  Applying too many products could harm the plant you are applying to.

  • Asked by Raul from Ooltewah, Tn
    04/28/2013
    Q
How much Fertilome with Neem Py do I spray dwarf fruit trees (apples & peaches) and how frequently?
    A
Per the product label: As a preventative, apply fertilome FRUIT TREE SPRAY on a 7 to 14 day schedule until the potential for disease development is no longer present. To control disease already present, apply fertilome FRUIT TREE SPRAY on a 7 day schedule until disease pressure is eliminated. Then continue spraying on a 14 day schedule to prevent the disease from reoccurring. To prevent rust leaf spot diseases, anthracnose and scab, begin applications at the first sign of spring budding. To prevent powdery mildew, apply in mid-summer or when disease is first detected. For brown patch and dollar spot, begin spraying at first sign of disease on a 7 to 14 day interval. For snow mold, begin spraying on a 14 day interval in the fall before the first snow. Continue applications until disease pressure no longer exists.
Mixing Instructions: Mix fertilome  FRUIT TREE SPRAY at the rate of 2 tablespoons (1 fluid ounce) per gallon of water. Thoroughly mix solution and spray all plant leaf surfaces (including undersides of leaves) until completely wet. Excessive application is unnecessary and to be avoided

  • Asked by James from Niceville Florida

    Q
I need a spray for mosquitoes that is safe for my vegetable and herb garden plus a large fig tree.
I bought your Talstar P product for termites, but I can't spray that on my vegetables, fruits, and herbs.
    A
We would recommend using Fertilome Fruit Tree Spray with Neem Py. It is labeled for mosquitoes, as well as various other pests as well. It is labeled to be sprayed of fruits, nuts, vegetables, herbs, spices, roses, houseplants, flowers, shrubs and turf grass. DO NOT apply to known spray sensitive plant species such as: impatiens flowers, fuchsia flowers, hibiscus flowers, some rose flowers, ornamental olive trees, red maples, some carnation varieties or similar plants without prior testing. You will use 1 fl. oz. per gallon of water.

  • Asked by Carol from Appleton, Wi
    07/22/2015
    Q
What should Ferti-lome Fruit Tree Spray with Neem Py look and smell like?
I bought this a few years ago and never opened it, and always stored it in the house. I opened it tonight to use it and it smelled really terrible, and was kind of brown. I'm pretty sure this needs to go to the hazardous waste site. I don't feel like I want to eat fruit sprayed with it.
    A

According to the product MSDS for Ferti-Lome Fruit Tree Spray with Neem Py, the product is yellow to red with a "citrus-garlic" odor.  Many people do not care for the smell of neem oil.  Generally, most products of this type will be good for at least 3 years when stored at room temperature.  If you have had the product for longer than that, or if you still have concerns about using it, it would be a good idea to contact the manufacturer directly to see what they recommend.  Ferti-Lome Fruit Tree Spray with Neem Py is made by VPG, and they can be reached at 888-583-5296.

  • Asked by Ed from Fort Wayne, In

    Q
Is Ferti-Lome Fruit Tree Spray with Neem Py labeled for use on edible plants for mosquitoes?
Want to treat gardens for flying pest (mosquitoes). What product can I use?
    A

You can use Ferti-Lome Fruit Tree Spray with Neem Py, which contains both Neem Oil and Pyrethrins and should be applied on a 7 to 14 day schedule. Dilute with water at a rate of 1 ounce per gallon of water, making sure to spray plants thoroughly, including the undersides of leaves. Please see the product label for complete application instructions.

Another option is Mosquito Barrier, which can be applied to ornamental vegetation, standing water, and to gardens for mosquito control. This product contains garlic oil which will kill on contact and act as a repellent once dry.
