  • Asked by Gina from Phoenix, Az
    07/29/2019
    Q
Can I apply Ferti-Lome Weed Out with Crabgrass Killer if it is over 105 degrees in AZ?
Bermuda lawn is overtaken by crabgrass.
    A

We do not recommend that you applying any post-emergent herbicides such as Ferti-Lome Weed Out with Crabgrass Killer while temperatures are over 90 degrees. This product label, however, specifically states not to apply this product to Bermuda grass while temperatures are over 85 degrees. This puts too much stress on your desirable grass, plus the target weeds will not be actively growing enough to metabolize the herbicide. If you have cooler temperatures at night, then the best time to apply is in early morning when temperatures are below 85 degrees and the lawn has been able to recover during the night.

  • Asked by S. from Warner Robins, Ga
    03/22/2013
    Q
What should I use to kill weeds in my Bermuda grass in Georgia?
Bermuda Grass - GA Have tried everything that can be purchased locally (Walmart Lowes, etc.) Main pests are crabgrass, dandelion, creeping charlie, prickly lettuce.
    A
It is very early in the season for a selective herbicide to be able to control weeds because of cold stress and water stress. Most selective herbicides will not work properly until the average nightly temps have reached 60F. Fertilome Weed Out with Q would be a good selective product to control all of the weeds you mentioned but you would still need to wait until the weather warms up a bit as these products will only work on actively growing/non-stressed plants.
