    Q
    Use of fogger in attic?
Can CB PCO Fogger with Pyrethrins be used in attics and is it effective in killing silver fish when using batt and roll insulation?
    A
You can use the fogger in the attic to kill exposed insects. The fogger cannot penetrate into cracks, crevices or under the insulation. We recommend you use the Dekko Silverfish Paks in the attic to help get rid of the hidden silverfish.

    Q
Is there a bug bomb for a black widow infestations?
    A
CB PCO Fogger with Pyrethrins will kill spiders, but only the spiders that are exposed at the time the fogger is released. We recommend using Cyper WP for spider control. Cypermethrin, the active ingredient in Cyper WP, is known to be one of the most effective active ingredients for spiders and other hard to kill insects. Spray directly into cracks and crevices, under appliances, around door frames and window frames and in places where utilities (cables, pipes, wires) enter into the structure. We have recently added a spider control kit to our website that includes Cyper WP, Webout and glue boards. Using Webout eliminator will help discourage spiders from forming webs on the surfaces that have been sprayed and the glue boards will help trap wandering spiders and help monitor problem areas.

    Q
will the CB PCCO fogger kill bird mites
    A
: CB PCO Fogger with Pyrethrins is not labeled to treat mites. It is important to be absolutely sure you are actually dealing with bird mites. Have the suspected bird mite identified by a reputable source, such as your local cooperative extension office or a reputable pest control operator. Treatments will vary for different pests. Treatment for say bedbugs is much different than the treatment for bird mites.  If you do indeed have bird mites, you must first find the source of the infestation, usually a bird nest or a dead bird on or in the home. Removal of the infested nest or bird and a thorough cleanup is necessary. For treatment in the home, we recommend you frequently vacuum all carpet and upholstery and dispose of the bag or vacuum contents in a sealed bag outdoors. Spray Sterifab on couches, chairs and other upholstered furniture where you may spend time resting. Use MotherEarth Dust in all cracks and crevices around the perimeter of the room. Apply a thin coat of MotherEarth dust to rugs and carpets. Rake (not sweep) nap back and forth, causing dust to enter rug or carpet. Let product sit overnight. Repeat application as necessary and vacuum every 3 - 4 days for effective control. MotherEarth dust does not have a fast knockdown, it can take several days for insects to die after they contact the dust. Onslaught can be used for a faster knockdown. Thoroughly apply as a fine particle broadcast spray using a hand pump sprayer to infested rugs and carpets and other cracks and crevices around the perimeter of each room. Put all clothes through the dryer on high heat to help kill mites and their eggs.We have had many customers use the above recommendations with great success. Most customers report that it can take several months to get rid of all of the mites. Finding and removing the source of the infestation is very important and is the key to getting rid of the mites for good.

    Q
    Will this fogger kill moths?
Moths have been feasting on my favorite wool sweaters, hanging in my closet
    A

The CB Pco Fogger will kill adult moths that are exposed at the time of the fogging but the fog will not be able to penetrate into the folds of the clothing to kill the larva that is actually causing the damage to your sweaters (the adult moths do not feed, the moth larva is what is causing damage to your sweaters. Please read our article How to get Rid of Clothes Moths to learn how to get rid of this damaging pest.

    Q
Will the PCO fogger kill gnats and their eggs?
    A
The CB PCO Fogger with Pyrethrins will kill the exposed gnats, but it will most likely have no effect on their eggs. The eggs are usually protected because of their hard shell and because they are placed into voids, cracks, crevices and other protected areas where the fogger is unlikely to penetrate. If you suspect that the gnats are breeding and laying eggs indoors, you should try to find the area that they are depositing their eggs. Depending on the type of gnat you are dealing with, they could be developing in drains, soil in potted plants, organic buildup in the bottom of trash cans, debris under appliances, etc. In most cases, a thorough cleaning of the infested area is needed.

    Q
I've got yellow jackets nesting in my crawlspace. Should I block the vents and fog?
    A
You could try that, but if the yellow jackets are nesting in a block void or other area, the fog would not kill all of the yellow jackets in the crawl space.  The most effective way to kill yellow jackets is to use Tempo 1% dust and a hand duster.  Even if they are just flying in and out of the screen or through a hole, if you dust the opening where they are going in and out sometimes that should be enough to kill them.

    Q
Will the CB PCO Fogger kill fleas?
I'm having a very bad flea infestation at the moment. I tried using Advantage and another flea killer product on my cat and the fleas still have not disappeared. I'm looking for something more permanent and lethal to make sure the fleas don't ever come again. I do believe that once the fleas are killed they won't ever come again because the general area we live in is really not flea heavy, I just believe I went to someone else's place who had fleas in the house, and I just happened to pick one of them up from sitting on there couch or their dog that hasn't been treated by flea medicine. Will the CB PCO Fogger kill these fleas once and for all?
    A

Foggers work very well to get rid of the adult fleas that are exposed at the time of the treatment but will not effect the adult fleas that are hidden away at the time of the treatment or the flea eggs or larvae. Most infestations require two or even three treatments of a product that contains a long lasting residual and an insect growth regulator such as Ultracide. Treatments should be applied at two week intervals. Vacuuming immediately before the application and daily vacuuming will be vital to successful flea control. Be sure to dispose of the vacuum contents in a sealed bag away from your home.

    Q
Is the powder left after fogging with CB PCO Fogger harmful to humans long after use?
    A
There is no powder left behind after using the CB PCO Fogger with Pyrethrins, it will dissipate in the air after use.  All pets and people must leave the home while the fogger is being used and they must remain out of the home for about 2 hours. The home should then be vented by opening the windows and doors for about 30 minutes. After this time period it will be safe for people and pets to return to the home.

    Q
Will FMC Pyrethrin Fogger kill fruit flies?
I have over 40 stupid fruit flies in my kitchen and house and its not my trash or whatever. They just wait on my ceiling for dirty dishes. HELP please I must get these out!
    A

Yes, however FMC Pyrethrin Fogger and other foggers will only treat insects that are present at the time of treatment. For effective fly eradication, you must identify and eliminate the breeding source. Keep in mind that you may actually have Drain Flies instead of Fruit Flies. Drain Flies are called this because they breed where organic matter is found in moist, dark areas such as kitchen drains.

    Q
Is CB PCO Fogger with Pyrethrin effective against carpet beetles?
Attegunus Unicolor (and its larva) hides in carpet and crevices. Pyrethrins and pyrethroids are effective, but will this fogger do the job or will other methods be needed?
    A
CB PCO fogger would not be effective against carpet beetles.  This is because this product will not penetrate into cracks and crevices where carpet beetle larvae hide, and it does not leave a residual to kill insects later when they come out of hiding.  This product will only kill what is out in the open when it goes off.  We recommend reading our articles on carpet beetle control.

  • Asked by Pat from Parkesburg, Pa
    01/27/2013
    Q
Will this CB PCO fogger be appropriate for a chigger infestation inside our house?
These bugs we were told by a bug expert are chiggers. It is mostly small, tiny bugs, some black, some red and are so tiny we can hardly see them. They are everywhere! On our beds, floors and on and in our clothes. We have our fleece slippers on floor and the bugs crawl on, in and around our slippers. And they bite! Is this fogger a good choice to use? These things are driving me crazy. Please help!
    A
CB PCO Fogger with Pyrethrins would not likely be helpful for a chigger infestation as it will only kill insects that directly exposed during the application. Further, we recommend you get a second opinion as to the identification of the pest you are dealing with because chiggers are very unlikely to infest houses and they are not active in the winter. We recommend reading the this article: Chiggers, HYG 2100-98 for accurate information on chiggers and why we believe the identification is incorrect.

    Q
Can I use CB PCO Fogger to eliminate powderpost beetles in our kitchen cabinets?
    A
No, CB PCO Fogger or other bug bombs will not penetrate into cabinets and kill powder post beetles.  Bug Bombs only go straight up into the air and fall down through the air onto surfaces.  They will only kill what insects are out in the open when the bomb goes off.  Powderpost beetle larvae are not out in the open like other insects, they are deep inside the wood of the cabinet.  Unfortunately, the only method of eradicating powder post beetles is either fumigation which can only be performed by a professional company, or you can apply a wood treatement product we carry called Bora-Care, but it requires sanding off the finish of the cabinet.

    Q
Will FMC Pyrethrin Fogger kill scabies?
    A

FMC Pyrethrin Fogger is not labeled to kill scabies. Using a fogger would not be an appropriate treatment for this pest. You should consult a medical professional for topical treatment. You can clean the environment by vacuuming and washing and drying clothing and linens. You could use a contact kill product such as Steri-Fab to treat furniture and flooring, although this is generally not necessary.

    Q
I am looking for something that will kill stink bugs. Will the CB PCO Fogger with Pyrethrin work?
    A
The CB PCO Fogger would not be your best choice for stinkbugs.  CB PCO Fogger is only a contact kill, meaning it will only kill a bug that is out in the open when it is set off.  Stinkbugs are nesting in the wall and the fogger would not make it into the wall where they hide.  You should purchase our Overwintering Kit or the Stink Bug Control Kit which are both specifically for overwintering pests like the stinkbug.  It has products that you place in the wall where they are hiding, and also products that leave a residual to kill the adults that are coming out of the wall into your home.

    Q
Will CB PCO Fogger with Pyrethrin kill german roaches? They seem to be somewhere in a kitchen cabinet.
I have sprayed Cynoff WP insect killer around the baseboards and the outside of the house, but they seem to be concentrated by the kitchen sink.
    A
CB PCO Fogger will kill roaches, but you must direct the fogger in the kitchen cabinet. Roaches are commonly found around kitchen sinks because they need moisture. You can help eliminate this need by always placing dishes in the dishwasher instead of leaving them in the sink, wipe the sink out and counter tops at night so no water is left anywhere in the sink or around it. Remove everything from inside cabinets and drawers. Direct the CB PCO Fogger inside these areas so the fog gets inside all cracks and crevices.  Roaches commonly hide inside walls and the fogger will not make it back in these areas, so the fogger will kill what roaches are out in the open when you use it, but not what is in hiding.  After you fog, we would recommend using Advion Roach Gel to place in your cabinets and drawers.  It works great and you will usually start seeing substantial results within 2 weeks as long as you keep all food and water cleaned up and at a minimum.
