    Q
How do I mix Gallery 75 DF Specialty Herbicide?
I just received my order. I have a 1 and a 2 gallon pump sprayer, and I want to use to apply this in the common area next to my lawn. I don't see any mixing instructions. How do I mix this up? Thanks.
    A
On page 3 of the product label are the instructions you are seeking.  You can use the lid of the Gallery 75 DF to measure the proper amount of product:  "When filled to the level of the inner lip, the cap contains approximately 1/2 oz, which is the amount of Gallery 75 DF needed to treat a 1,000 sq ft area." You can mix the 1/2 oz of product with 1-2 gallons of water. It is important to use the mixture immediately and to keep the mixture agitated to stop the product from settling to the bottom of the sprayer. The actual amount of water that you use is not important as it acts only as a carrier for the Gallery 75 DF and does not actually dilute the product.

    Q
How long after spraying is it safe to allow pets in the sprayed area?
I have a couple of 12 lb dogs that run in the yard where I wish to get rid of dandelions and would be concerned over their safety with this product. Thanks
    A
Gallery is a very safe product to use around pets when used as directed. You should have the pets inside while you are applying the product.  Once applied, it typically takes about an hour to dry.  After that time it is perfectly safe to let the dogs back in the yard.  When this product is mixed with water it is quite diluted and should have no effects on a dog or any animal for that matter.

  • Asked by Scott from Camp Hill, Pa

    Q
Can Gallery be applied using a hose end sprayer rather than a pump tank sprayer?
Can Gallery be applied using a hose end sprayer rather than a pump tank sprayer. I do have both but was wondering how to keep track of what areas have been sprayed when using a tank sprayer. Any advice would be appreciated.
    A
Most folks use a tank sprayer to apply Gallery so that they can be sure that they are getting even coverage. Hose end sprayers can not be easily calibrated and are not usually recommended for use with herbicides such as Gallery. You can either mark off the area that needs to be treated in 1,000 sq ft sections to make applications easy or you can use a dye additive so that you can see where you have sprayed. We carry the Turf Mark Blue Liquid and the Turf Mark Blue Tablets for this use.

    Q
When is the best time to apply Gallery 75 DF Specialty Herbicide in Birmingham Alabama?
    A

It is important to apply pre-emergents like Gallery 75 DF Specialty Herbicide just before the soil reaches 55+ degrees, right before the seeds begin to germinate in the soil. For warm season grasses, this is typically around February-March. You may contact your county extension office for the specific time frame to apply in your county and also visit our Lawn Care Schedule Guide for more information.

    Q
    Boom Sprayer
It is my understanding the material does not dissolve in water. Are the granules small enough to avoid being clogged in a large boom sprayer (a 25 or 50 gallon Fimco/Northstar/AgriFab like sprayers) to treat larger areas?
    A
Gallery is a Dry Flowable light tan water dispersible granule, so you are correct that it will not completely dissolve in the water. If mixed thoroughly and kept slightly agitated, you can normally use any type of sprayer-with or without a boom-without problems of clogging. However as we are not familiar with how the product works in every sprayer on the market, you may get more information from either the manufacturer of the sprayer you have, or from the manufacturer of Gallery 75 DF. Gallery is made by Dow AgroSciences: 1-800-258-3033.

  • Asked by Todd from Dfw Area, Texas

    Q
For St. Augustine and Bermuda lawns, is it beneficial to tank mix 2 pre emergents such as Gallery 75 DF Specialty Herbicide with Dimension 2EW for more broad spectrum weed control?
I plan to apply Dimension to St. Augustine and Bermuda lawns in the Dallas, Texas area this fall and then again in the spring. Will an application of Gallery be useful to supplement the Dimension applications?
    A

Gallery 75 DF Specialty Herbicide is a pre-emergent that prevents many more broadleaf weeds than other pre-emergent herbicides such as Dimension 2EW. So using both of these products is not redundant if you need to prevent weeds that are on each of those labels. Keep in mind that some plants will germinate more in the fall and others more in spring, so in an area where you have a very long growing season, we recommend using both spring and fall applications. Just be sure that you do not exceed the maximum annual application rate for any specific product you are using.

Another option is the newer product Crew Specialty Herbicide, which is a granule pre-emergent that has both dithiopyr (Dimension) and isoxaben (Gallery) in one product.
