Directions For Use

For Mound Treatment

Make applications in the early morning or late evening hours when it is cool and the ants are most active. Apply when temperatures are between 65 and 80 degrees F.

Treat mound and an area 4 ft in diameter around the mound. Apply 1/2 cup of Fire Ant Killer over each fire ant mound. Irrigate the soil before application if it is dry. After application, apply 1 to 2 gallons of water over each mound.

NOTE: Food utensils such as teaspoons and measuring cups must not be used for food purposes after use with pesticides.

For Broadcast Treatment

Apply during the morning or late evening when it is cool and the ants are most active. Treat the entire lawn area to prevent reinfestation of fire ants from neighboring areas. For best control of foraging workers and newly mated fly-in queens, use both broadcast applications and mound treatments that will kill existing colonies.

Apply uniformly over your lawn using the suggested spreader settings. Water lawn after application to was granules from the lawn foliage. Irrigate the soil before application if it is dry.

NOTE: People and pets may enter treated areas after granules have been watered in and the treated area has dried.

Broadcast Spreader: If your lawn is rectangular, apply two border strips across each end for a turning area. If your lawn is an irregular shape, apply a border strip completely around it. Then apply product back and forth in the longest direction. turn the spreader off and on at the edge of each strip to prevent uneven application. Overlap the throw pattern by about a foot to ensure complete coverage.

Drop Spreader: Apply granules with spreader going in the same direction as the longest part of the lawn. Apply two (2) header strips first. To ensure through coverage, make sure to overlap wheel marks. Shutoff the spreader when finished or when the header strips have been reached.

    It really works!

    By Marcella on 06/08/2016

I started using Over n Out for the first time last year. Before , my treatments, with other products, might have lasted maybe until the first rain. I had mounds so big, that the lawn mover wouldn't pass over them. I noticed after the first application of Over n Out, the ants were gone. You could tap on the mounds, and there was no activity. Last fall, I made my second application, still no ants. Yea. I do not normally give recommendations, but I have found myself, actually telling my neighbors about this product. When I am in a store and see a person searching for a fire ant killer, I will stop and recommend this product. I know it works! Thank you.

Q
Which product is best for fire ants in a large lawn, the Talsta PL or GardenTech Over N Out?

Cost and effectiveness is more important.

A
Although both products are extremely successful at eradicating fire ants, the Garden Tech Over N Out will provide you will a longer lasting residual, a full 6 months of fire ant control. This kind of long term residual will make the Garden Tech Over N Out much more cost efficient that Talstar PL which only guarantees effectiveness up to 3 months and is more expensiver per bag.

A

Garden Tech Over N Out Fire Ant Killer is only labeled for residential home lawn use and not for pastures. We recommend using Extinguish Fire Ant Bait which does not have any pasture or grazing restrictions.

Extinguish Fire Ant Bait - 3 - 5 TBL per mound or 1 - 1.5 lbs per acre
**Ants must be foraging for this to work. You should not apply this product in the late fall or winter of ants are not foraging...it will not work! Also, bait must remain dry. Do not apply if it is going to rain within 8 hours.
