    Q
Where do silverfish come from and how do I get rid of silverfish?
I see these silverfish most commonly in our bathroom and daughter's room across the hall. Is this normal for this type of bug and secondly, where are they coming from? Inside or coming in from the outside air ducts?
    A
Silverfish can come in from the outside around your foundation or they can be brought in from boxes or other stored products.  They will hang out inside wall voids but are very commonly found in bathrooms and attics when they come out to forage for food and water.  They will eat glue and adhesives in dresser drawers, bookshelves and bookcases, paintings, etc.  We recommend our Silverfish Kit for complete control of these pests.

    Q
Is the silverfish kit safe around pets?
I have two cats. the main affected area is my garage and garage closet. I can keep them out of the closet but garage is harder. And the packets in kitchen cupboards, will it affect them?
    A
All of our products are safe to use around pets as long as you follow the instructions.  The general rule is to keep all pets out of the rooms you are treating while you are performing the treatment.  Once the product that you apply is dry, which usually takes about 30 to 45 minutes, it is perfectly safe to allow your pets to re-enter the room.  The silverfish packs should be placed in areas where pets cannot access them, such as underneath or behind places of activity.  All of these products are made to kill tiny insects, and should pose no threat to the cats unless they get into the containers or boxes themselves which is why you should keep all pesticide containers in a safe place, just as you would with cleaning chemicals or anything else.

    Q
How do you get rid of silverfish in your drain?
    A
Silverfish normally live outdoors under rocks, bark, and leaves. When silverfish are found indoors, they prefer moist places such as basements, bathtubs, laundry rooms, sinks and kitchens. However, they may also be found near food sources including book shelves, behind baseboards and wallpaper, and around window and door frames. We recommend treating your home with our Get Rid of Silverfish Kit. You could treat your drains with Invade Bio Drain. It is not labeled specifically for silverfish but it will break up organic material and eliminate odors. You could also plug the drain openings with sink stoppers during the treatment outside and inside with the kit.  Please let us know if you need anything else.

    Q
How do I get rid of silverfish?
    A
The Get Rid Of Silverfish Kit includes Bifen IT insecticide concentrate for treating indoors and outdoors; InTice 10 Perimeter Bait is a granular insect bait for attics, drop ceilings and crawl spaces; and dekko silverfish paks for bathrooms and kitchens. The Bifen IT is mixed with water at the rate of 1 oz. per gallon and will make about 20 gallons of solution. InTice 10 Perimeter Bait is a versatile, ready-to-use, mold and moisture resistant granular bait for control of crawling silverfish. InTice 10 Perimeter Bait is highly palatable, containing proteins, oils, and sweet to satisfy the taste preferences of a wide variety of insects and maximize bait acceptance. Silverfish eat paper and glue with great gusto! Dekko Silverfish Paks attacks them by infusing the boric acid, paper pack and glue with an attractant that is irresistible to the critters and kills them quickly once consumed. Unlike powders, Dekko Silverfish Paks are clean, won't leave residue on your hands, or in locations where they are placed.
