Grub Control

Hello, I am looking at spraying my back yard for grubs and have about 15,000 square feet. I have a tow behind sprayer and must importantly two dogs. What would you recommend for season long prevention. I have recently removed some sod and was amazed at how many were underneath it. I live in Northwest Ohio. Thank you for your help.

Answer:

The best time to treat for grubs is prior to egg hatch.  Adonis 2F woudl be a good option as you mix .46fl oz - .6floz per 1,000 square feet. The exact amount of water is dependent upon how much water it takes to cover 1,000 sq feet (mark off a 10 x 100 ft area, however much water it takes to spray this area thoroughly is how much water you will mix per .46- .6fl oz of Adonis 2F) Apply this product in sufficient water to provide adequate distribution in the treated area. The use of accurately calibrated equipment normally used for the application of turfgrass insecticides is required. Use equipment which will produce a uniform, coarse droplet spray, using a low pressure setting to eliminate off target drift. Check calibration periodically to ensure that equipment is working properly
