I have noticed a small amount wood shavings on the basement floor and what looks like large black ants eating the wood? What products would you recommend?

In order to make a recommendation, we would need to know for certain if this is a certain species of ant or possibly drywood termites. You may contact your local extension office for assistance in having the insect identified, or refer to our Pest Control Guide to learn the difference between ants and drywood termites.
