    Q
It rained today, how long before i can apply Atrazine?
    A
You should apply Atrazine when the ground is dry. This product will control both emerged weeds and weeds from seeds. Rain or water within 2 or 3 days of application may decrease the effectiveness on emerged weeds. However, for the control of weeds from seeds, rainfall or watering is necessary within 7 to 10 days after treatment.

    02/20/2013
    Q
Why do the instructions on Hi-Yield Atrazine Weed Killer state to only use this twice a year?
My once-beautiful yard has been taken over by florida betany. It's the plague! Atrazine is the best herbicide I've found to kill it, but I've had to use it more often than twice a year, more like four times, twice in the Fall and twice early Spring.
    A
The EPA gets to decide how often a chemical can be applied. They usually make this decision based on how long the product lasts in the environment, what kind of damage can be caused by over application and many other technical factors.

  • Asked by John from Tampa
    10/08/2017
    Q
What is the safe application temperature using Hi-Yield Atrazine Weed Killer for st Augustine?
I notice that you are not supposed to use on St Augustine when temps are above 85 deg. I also noticed that you recommended a July application to someone in central Florida. I find this confusing. How long after application must the temp stay below 85 after application to not damage st Augustine grass?
    A

Hi-Yield Atrazine Weed Killer can be applied early in the morning before temperatures reach 90 degrees if it's expected to get this hot on the day of application.  You just do not want to apply during the time of high temperature because your desirable turfgrass is under more stress in high heat.

  • Asked by The from South Mississippi
    07/03/2017
    Q
What's best to kill crabgrass in centipede?
    A

As you probably know, Centipedegrass is a very sensitive species of turf so many products that eliminate the crabgrass and other weeds can also cause damage to your lawn. Hi Yield Atrazine is safe to be used on Centipede and it will suppress Crabgrass but may not completely eliminate it. It will also control a large variety of other broadleaf weeds. Tenacity is a great pre- and post-emergent herbicide that will control crabgrass along with many other types of weeds without harming your centipede lawn. Make sure to read the Tenacity label very carefully and mix exactly what is recommended as this is a strong product and mis-using it can cause temporary turf injury. When applying Tenacity it is highly recommended to use a temporary turf colorant like Turf Mark Blue to allow you to see where you are spraying. Overlapping your application of Tenacity can cause temporary whitening of the lawn as well, but the color will return in 3-4 weeks at most. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Q
Do you have to use 4 gallons of water with the 16 oz of product or can it be sprayed with say 2 gallons of water without damage?

It is very important to follow the directions on the product label or you do risk getting uneven coverage and damaging your lawn. If you only have a two gallon sprayer perhaps you can mix up 8.6 fl oz into two gallons of water cover 1,000 sq ft.
