    Q
Can you mix blood meal and ammonia to keep dear out of garden?
    A
Blood Meal itself is a natural deer repellant. You can sprinkle the dried blood meal around the perimeter of the garden. If you live in a raining climate then you should use more than if you live in an arid region. Reapplication is neccessary after rainfall. Unfortunately, this is not a labeled use of the Hi Yield Blood Meal 12-0-0 so we can't advise of mixing it with ammonia.

    Q
How often should Hi-Yield Blood Meal 12-0-0 be applied?
I had a soil test done for the soil around my citrus trees and the results showed that the soil was low in nitrogen. They recommended using Blood Meal. I have applied it once. I recently read an article saying it should be applied every 6 to 8 weeks. Is that accurate?
    A

Most fertilizers like Hi-Yield Blood Meal 12-0-0 are applied 2-4 times per year, fall, summer, early spring and late spring, depending on how much nutrients you are lacking.
