Hard to tell it's working

First off I believe the product works, but I'm not an expert so it's hard to tell if I put it down at the right time and if it's being most effective. The directions on the back are horrible as well, I am still not sure if it should be watered in or if it can be rained on. Almost all the headings on the back are kind of “how to apply”.

Thank you for your review. The turf herbicide and fertilizer components in Hi-Yield Weed and Grass Stopper with Dimension Herbicide are not effective until activated by rainfall or irrigation. Performance is improved if application is followed by 1/2 inch of rainfall or sprinkler irrigation. Erratic weed control may result if not activated by rainfall or irrigation within 30 days after application. It is best to water in within 24 hours.

Too late..!?

It's hard for me to truly rate the effectiveness of this preemergent. I bought this as part of their subscription service. It was easy to apply. It spread easily. They even included a pair of gloves to avoid skin contact. However, it arrived for the last week in March, too late for southern Virginia. I think some of the weeds had already sprouted by the time I could get it down, two days after delivery. It's hard to gauge how well it works.

still have weeds and a second app is recommended

So I followed all of the instructions, but three weeks later I still have new weeds coming up. I contacted customer service and they recommended that I do a second application 4 weeks after the first. I was hoping I would only have to do one application. Also parts of my lawn showed heavy stress after the treatment and these are the parts with the new weeds.

Not sure if it is working that much

Product delivery was timely and I was able to apply via spreader soon thereafter. I had applied prodiamine about 5 weeks previously. I am unavoidably running about 2 weeks behind on pre-emergent applications this year. I think both types of pre-emergents (dithiopyr & prodiamine) need to be applied while mowing and bagging very frequently at about 1" to be most effective. That holds down weeds until bermuda grass kicks in and can choke out weeds and as life cycles of some weeds end. I also hand pull weeds out of lawn.

Weed killer selection

I used this for one season. It killed the intended creeping Charlie. But the there's a trade off. I got so many other weeds that did not anticipate. I will never use again. I had so many different types of weeds that I have never seen. The unknown weeds were never present before using this weed killer.

I hate reviews that only state hopes for the product. My order was shipped promptly and received in perfect condition. I have high hopes for the Hi-Yield pre-emerge, but it's March 8th and I just put it down. Will review later in the season when I have something to report. Rating is neutral due to no info.
