How can I keep snakes and spiders out of my basement?

Answer:

We would recommend using Snake Guard Snake Traps for the snakes. They are meant to be placed underneath porches, crawl spaces, or inside or under covered areas.  The outside layer of the box has a waxy coating to help repel water, but the inside is raw cardboard and is not meant to get wet.  You should not place this board where it will be exposed to water/rain. The size of the board is 23"L x 12"W x 2.5"H. Once you have seen the snake population decrease, we would recommend using a snake repellent, such as Snake Away. You will put this on three sides of your property to allow the snakes to leave the area. If you put it on four sides, it will trap the snakes in your lawn. For spiders, we would recommend using Onslaught FastCap Spider and Scorpion Insecticide. You will spray this in the area where the spiders are. They need to come in contact with it in order for them to be affected by it.
