Ken from Aurora, Colorado writes

Huge infestation of whiteflies and other bugs on ceilingss. We once treated for bed bugs. Did that cause this?

Have no house plant. They are extremely prolific and also like to bite. They have attracted spiders and their webs. Every morning we wake up to small white bugs, and other small white wooly looking things on the floor and furniture. I've been vacuuming and sweeping the ceilings daily. It seems to help for few hours, then they return even in greater numbers.. I am also painting the inside of our home. When I rolling paint, many insects from the white flies, spiders, gnats etc become visible and also contaminate the paint. We didn't see at all the insects moving around on the ceiling/ Help!! I have also sprayed soap.

Answer:

Treating for bedbugs will not cause another insect to be attracted to the ceilings. If you have no indoor houseplants or any water leakage, we recommend getting the insect properly identified through your local cooperative extension office to determine what you are exactly dealing with. Once you have an identification, please contact us at 866-581-7378 for a product recommendation and treatment advice.
