Is there a less expensive way to stop a cockroach infestation than buying a roach control kit?

Answer:

You can purchase the items in the kit separately. A good option would be to use Fenvastar, Advion Roach Bait Gel and Gentrol IGR. Gentrol IGR and Fenvastar can be mixed together in the same tank and applied to your baseboards, cracks and crevices. Be sure to follow the same steps that are provided within the Roach Guide.
