I live in texas and will be hosting an outdoor graduation party. The lawn is our major source of mosquitos. I have a dog who spends alot of time in the yard. What spray (not fog) treatment would you recommend I use before the party?
We would recommend using Talstar P and NyGuard IGR mixed together. Both are concentrates that you will mix with water, and can be mixed together and sprayed at the same time. The Talstar is the insecticide that will provide at least 30 days residual control killing the population that is present. The NyGuard is birth control, to keep the population and any new ones that fly in from reproducing and making the infestation grow larger. The NyGuard will last up to 5 months after the first spray so you can enjoy your lawn for longer than just the graduation party. You can spray both products on all areas of the lawn and ornamentals with the exception of any edible vegetation. Keep pets out of the area during treatment, but once the product has dried, it is completely safe for any pests, children and family members to re-enter the area and use it as normal.
