MOSS OUT! FOR LAWNS kills moss in lawns so grass can grow into thick lush turf. Moss grows on the soil surface in lawns where it competes with the turf, causing the grass to thin-out and creating an excessive build-up of thatch. Shaded or poorly-drained acidic areas encourage moss growth especially if the turf is undernourished. Apply MOSS OUT! to these areas when the moss is actively growing. Make applications as needed, beginning with the first fall rains, during warm, rainy, winter periods, or in early spring. Encourage strong turf development by applying a Lilly Miller Ultragreen or Rapid Green fertilizer as directed. This will help prevent further moss growth.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

For household use only.

MOSS OUT! FOR LAWNS is for use on lawn or turf only. Contact with concrete, brick, tile, wood or painted surfaces can cause severe staining. Since MOSS OUT! FOR LAWNS can cause corrosion to galvanized metal, apply only with plastic sprinkling can or hose-end sprayer. Use Lilly Miller Moss Out! For Roofs and Structures to control moss on roofs, patios and other surfaces.

MOSS IN LAWNS AND TURF

  1. Mix at the rate of 1/2 pint (8 fl. oz. or 16 Tablespoons) MOSS OUT! FOR LAWNS in 3 gallons of water for each 125 sq. ft. to be treated.
  2. Apply with plastic sprinkling can or hose-end sprayer. MOSS OUT! FOR LAWNS can corrode galvanized metal.
  3. When sprinkling or spraying mossy area, be sure to soak the moss growth thoroughly. Treated moss should turn a dark, or black color. Action is most rapid in warm, dry weather.
  4. Rinse equipment with water after use.
  5. To improve appearance of lawn or turf, rake out dead moss a few days after treatment.

Works as advertised -- finally, a product that actually work

    By Hew on 02/25/2015

For years, I've had moss in my yard in areas that don't get much sun. I couldn't get rid of the moss without using a rake or dethatcher... I've had two lawn companies treating my lawn and both have told me they don't have anything for moss and that I needed to change the pH of the soil. I came across Lilly Miller Moss Out by chance on this website and applied it in February's cold weather (instructions says it works faster when applied in warm weather) but I couldn't wait to try it. Within a few hours, the green moss turned black and have since receded and died. The instructions says to saturate the moss -- I didn't and it still worked. I haven't noticed any new growth in the areas I've treated. I can't wait to apply it when it warms up to get rid of the remaining moss that has been preventing the grass from fully growing in.

    Moss Out

    By Terry on 04/19/2015

    Verified Purchase

Great stuff, It turned the moss black and I raked it out, at east as much as I could get out of the grassy area and grass is starting to grow back where the moss was. Also I sprayed this product on my Cedar privacy fence that had a green moss on it and it took the moss off of the fence. One thing I might advise is to carefully read the directions as it will stain a concrete driveway.

Lilly Miller Moss Out for Lawns Concentrate

    By C. on 11/02/2015

I have a terrible moss problem. After many applications of moss killer, I tried the Lilly Miller products, although I thought how could I take anything with the name Lilly Miller seriously. First I used the granular form and there was an immediate improvement in the health of the grass. I followed up the next week with the concentrate. I still have some small patches, but the moss is under control. Thank you Lilly Miller, whoever you are.

    Excellent at killing moss

    By David on 05/14/2017

I was very impressed with Lilly Miller Moss Out for Lawn Concentrate. It worked like a charm. I followed the mixing instructions and used my 4 gal back back sprayer. One application and the moss turned black and died. The moss was in various places in my lawn and on my stone walls and stone patio. I should have been using this years ago rather than the granular products from the big box stores.

First, you want to be certain that you are treating for moss prior to application. If you are treating moss, rake the dead moss from the lawn after elimination. We would recommend waiting at least one week before applying a fertilizer to your soil. Be sure to use a fertilizer that has low or no phosphorus in it so that there are no adverse effects with the product. Your local cooperative extension can offer soil testing and assistance for fertilizer selections based on analysis of the soil also. We will be happy to help you select a fertilizer with this information also.
