    Q
Is malathion labeled for Mosquitos what is the best product for mosquito control around the house
    A
Malathion 57% is not labeled for mosquitos. One of the best products to use for mosquito control is called Talstar P.  A Multi-Insecticide with bifenthrin is one of the most trusted and widely-used insecticides by pest control professionals today. The name Talstar P/Talstar One means one professional solution for everything: Talstar insecticide kills over 75 insect pests and can be used for indoor pest control, outdoor pest control, food handling areas, turf and ornamental treatments, in the yard as a yard spray to treat fleas or other yard pests, and even for termite control! Talstar has a long residual, so it keeps on killing pests for over three months after you've sprayed it. Plus, Talstar One is odorless, dries clear, leaves no stains, is non-irritating to the skin, and won't break down easily with rainfall. This product is not to be used in areas with edible vegetation.

    Q
When should I start spraying Malathion 57% for squash borers?
I see on your label that this product will rid squash borers. When would I spray the squash to prevent the infestation from starting? And do I spray under the leaves or on the base? Help!

According to the Malathion 57% product label, you should start spraying when you see evidence of insect activity. It is very important to spray the entire plant including the underside of the leaves where many of these insects tend to harbor.

    Q
How do I mix Malathion 57% for flea infestations on animals and carpets?
    A
Malathion 57% is not labeled for use indoors or for use on animals. Tengard SFR is labeled for fleas and can be used indoors and on dogs (do not use on cats). It is important to vacuum prior to the application to help draw the fleas up from the carpet so that they may come into contact with the insecticide.  Tengard can also be used to control fleas in lawns, which is often the source of a flea infestation. Adding an insect growth regulator such as Martins IGR can help disrupt the fleas breeding cycle and help control new infestations of fleas for up to 7 months.

    Q
Can I put malathion on my goat pasture and how long should i keep them off before returning to graze?
    A
Malathion, up until a couple of months ago, was labeled for use on pastures. I now see that the manufacturer has removed this use from their label so I gave them a call. Control Solutions has told us that they do not recommend that use Malathion on the pasture at all. The manufacturer is checking on another product that may work better for your needs. We should have more information for you tomorrow.

    Q
Can i use malathion on my puppy?
I bought malathion (57% emulsifiable concentrate). Base on the direction for use it was written that i can use it for dogs (1 gallon water= 3 tbsp malathion). But i'm scared to use it. I just want to make sure if its safe for my pet.
    A
Malathion is NOT labeled for use on any animals. This product is only labled for certain insects on plants, fruits and vegetables and specifically states that it is harmful to animals. Please refer to the product label for how to use it in the proper areas only. If you are looking for a product safe to use on your pet for flea control, you could use Tengard SFR which has a very low dilution that is safe to be used on pets by either wiping it on with a towel or using it carefully as a dip.
