Mixing Levels of Boracare with Mold-Care

Why is it that if I have an existing wood decay fungus problem, the Bora Care only label wants me to do a 1:1 mixing ratio, but to treat the same problem with Bora Care with Mold Care it calls for a 5:1 ratio?

Answer:

Bora-Care with Mold Care is a very specialized product for mold only.  Mold is not wood decaying fungus.  Existing wood decaying fungus requires a 1:1 solution of just Bora-Care, but if you do not have any existing fungus and you are just preventing fungus growth, you can apply at a 5:1 ratio of water to Bora-Care.  Bora-Care with Mold-Care is a 5:1 ratio and is only for treating and preventing mold.  If you are only treating fungus, then you should not use Bora-Care with Mold-Care.  Mold is only a surface issue and not an internal issue such as wood decaying fungus, so it does not require to be diluted as heavily as if you are treating wood decaying fungus.
