If the MotherEarth Granular Scatter Bait becomes wet is it ineffective ?
When applying outside, if it becomes wet is it ineffective ? Should one apply during periods of dry weather outside ? Also if used in attics, how long is the product effective for in that area ?
    A
The Mother Earth Scatter bait can get a bit wet but would need to be reapplied after several light or one heavy rain event as the food based attractants will start to degrade and the product can be washed away. You can apply the bait every 7 days as necessary.

    Q
My dog licked MotherEarth granular scatter bait off the patio, will this harm her?
MotherEarth Granular was spread around my house yesterday and this morning. I noticed my dog licking it off the patio where some had fallen. I interrupted her after a short period of time.
    A
The small amount of Mother Earth Scatter Bait your dog may have licked up should have no effect. To be safe however, we do recommend that you call your veterinarian for advice. You can find a copy of the product label and the MSDS on our site, information your veterinarian will require.

    Q
The area around my house has become infested with Alleghany Mound ants. Nothing I do seems to work.
MotherEarth Granular was recommended. Will it attract and kill these ants? Will they carry it back to their nest? Their mounds are very difficult to find, so I need to be able to cover a large area.
    A
We recommend doing a direct application of a residual insecticide such as Tengard SFR to the mound. Using a shovel, scrape away the top of the mound and pour one gallon of the diluted Tengard into the mound. Unfortunately we cannot find one bait that has been labeled for Alleghany Mound ants.

    Q
Will MotherEarth Granular Scatter Bait kill Southern Fire Ants?
I do not want to kill spiders. Is the bait matrix for ants?
    A

MotherEarth Granular Scatter Bait is labeled for some species of ants, but is not labeled to kill or control Fire Ants. We would recommend Extinguish Plus. Extinguish Plus Fire Ant Bait is highly attractive to fire ants. It combines the killing speed of an adulticide (Hydramethylnon) and the long-lasting control of an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) (S-Methoprene). The IGR sterilizes the queen and prevents rebound, while the fast acting adulticide kills problem worker ants. This two-way action ensures complete control of fire ants.

    Q
Will Mother Earth Granular Scatter Bait kill fleas?
    A

No, Mother Earth Scatter Bait is not labeled for fleas. This product is more geared towards pests that reside in the soil such as crickets, earwigs, etc.

For outdoor flea control, we would recommend using the Outdoor/Indoor Flea Kit. You will mix 0.5 fl. oz. of Onslaught with 1 fl. oz. of Martins IGR for the first treatment. Onslaught is the actual insecticide and Martins IGR will stop the fleas from reproducing. You will do another treatment 14 days later with 0.5 fl. oz. of Onslaught only.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

    Q
Does MotherEarth Granular Scatter Bait help with Mosquitoes?
Does this help with Mosquitoes as well? Also I have children. Is this safe to be used outside?
    A

MotherEarth Granular Scatter Bait is not labeled to control mosquitoes.  Talstar P is our most popular product for mosquito control.  It is safe for people and pets if used as directed.  Everyone other than the person applying the product should stay out of the area while the product is being applied, but once everything is thoroughly dry, it is safe for everyone to return.  You may also want to check out our article on mosquito control if you have a moment.  You can find it on our website here

    Q
Will MotherEarth Granular Scatter Bait harm small lizards?
I want something to treat for roaches entering house but don't want to harm small lizards.
    A

MotherEarth Granular Scatter Bait is only labeled for small insects, such as cockroaches. Lizards normally feed off of insects, they're not known to be attracted to baits and there's really a small possibility of a lizard becoming intoxicated if it eats enough bugs that have eaten the bait. Furthermore, once you've been able to decrease the insect population with the bait, the lizard population will also decrease due to the shortage of their "food source", the lack of insects in the area will make them look for food somewhere else.

    Q
Will MotherEarth kill outdoor cockroaches? What is a good wet option?
We found a few cockroaches on the exterior of our home recently and we want to ensure they don't get inside. Will this product kill the outdoor cockroaches? Also, we have a sprinkler system that will get the product wet. Is there an alternate product you might recommend that will be ok when it gets wet?
    A

MotherEarth Granular Scatter Bait is labeled for roaches. Are you wanting a granule you can spread and water in afterwards? The moisture is something that they need to survive. Please take a few moments to review our treatment article on How to Get Rid of Roaches for a successful eradication program.
