    Great Product

    By Cindy on 01/23/2016

I have a small greenhouse business raising perennial flowers. I just learned yesterday that if I mix it in the promix (soil) before planting seeds, I can keep the pests away before they get started. I used to sprinkle it on top of plants and water in and it does a great job at keeping ALL bugs off my perennials. It's easy to use and lasts about 3 months per application. I've been using this product for about 15 years. Good stuff.

Q
Can I mix Marathon 1% granular directly into potting soil and, if yes, what proportions should be used?

I'm trying to avoid an annual mealybug infestation -- as well as other pests -- on plants in my apartment. Every year they kill off a substantial number of them. After trying all the usual products -- none of which worked -- someone at the nursery recommended Marathon 1%. I plan to repot about 50 plants.

Q
Can I use OHP Marathon 1% Granular on the ground to help my hibiscus bloom again?

All my planted hibiscus have not bloomed in months, all buds fall off I need to get rid of all and any bug causing this please help me get blooms again!

A

OHP Marathon 1% Granular can be applied to the soil around the hibiscus so that it is absorbed by the roots and can kill any plant sucking pests listed on the label.  We would recommend contacting a local master gardener for advice in determining the specific cause for the plants not to bloom.
