    Q
Onslaught versus Demand, Cykick or Cyzmic for Scorpions
To eliminate scorpions, is Onslaught the strongest, most effective insecticide to spray indoors and out? My treatments have included Demand, Cysmic and Cykick CS and Aerosol (aerosol for knockdown and cracks and crevices) and now am hearing about Onslaught FastCap Spider and Scorpion insecticide and wonder if it is stronger or the strongest. My thought is, if I'm spending money on insecticide and investing time to treat my home to ward off these horrible scorpions that I fear, I want the most effective product on the market. I'd rather purchase and concentrate on the best! Thanks.
    A
The Onslaught FastCap would definitely be the best option for your needs. It is specifically formulated to better target spiders and scorpions with a more thorough and long lasting coverage for these hard to kill pests. Keep in mind, no matter what product you are using for scorpions, you have to create a wider barrier for them than any other pest around your home. For general insects you would treat with a barrier around the foundation 2 feet up and 2 feet out. With scorpions you should be doing 2-3 feet up and 6-10 feet out on the ground. Also make sure to treat any landscape areas around your home that they would be prone to hiding in ie: mulch, bark, landscape timbers, rocks etc. You can review more information for protecting your home from scorpions in our article on Scorpion Control.

    Q
Is there a benefit to Onslaught FastCap vs. regular Onslaught?
I've been using regular Onslaught for residual hornet, ant, and earwig control. Is there a benefit to switching from regular Onslaught to FastCap? Either way, I need to buy another bottle, and want to make sure I'm getting the best.
    A
The biggest difference of Onslaught Fastap and Onslaught are the Onslaught Fastcap  combines a one of a kind formulation is made of Exponent brand synergist, Esfenvalerate, and Prallethrin. So Onslaught Fastcap offers an even quicker more intense knockdown.

    Q
What's the best indoor spray for spiders?
Our church fellowship hall has an increasing amount of spiders and spider eggs. We are in a rural area of Ohio. They don't bother me that much...but a few female members are scared. What do you recommend? Please note we EAT in the fellowship hall.
    A
The absolute best indoor/outdoor spider spray is Onslaught Fastcap. This one of a kind formulation is made of Exponent brand synergist, Esfenvalerate, and Prallethrin. Onslaught FastCap Spider and Scorpion Insecticide can be applied in a number of areas both indoor and outdoor, as well as food areas (see label for complete list).

    Q
Onslaught FastCap Spider and Scorpion Insecticide vs. Demand CS?
I have had good results with Demand CS for controlling mosquitoes, wasps, dirt doppers and, to a lesser degree, spiders in our outdoor living areas and around the overhangs of our house. It appears from the produce descriptions that the Onslaught FastCap Spider and Scopion product may provide a more targeted control for spiders. Might I see more effective control of spiders around the exterior of the house if I were to use BOTH products (Demand CS and Onslaught) at the same time?
    A
These products should not be mixed together. There is no valid reason to mix Demand CS and Onslaught FastCap Spider and Scorpion together.  Demand CS is a synthetic pyrethroid and Onslaught FastCap already contains a synthetic pyrethroid, so there would be nothing to gain by mixing these products together. Making a pesticide too strong can actually backfire. Areas that are treated with this overly concentrated spray will be repellent and insects will simply avoid the treated areas prolonging the infestation.

    Q
Outside temperature where it is applied.
Would extreme summer temperatures 110+ affect how long the product will be effective after mixing and spraying ?
    A
Yes extreme sunlight/temperatures and other outdoor elements will affect how long the product lasts on the surface. The Onslaught is designed to hold up to the outdoor elements a little longer and better than other general insecticides so you should get at least 30 to 60 day residual out of the product after its sprayed.

    Q
Can I mix up some Onslaught FastCap and use it as needed?
    A

Once you mix Onslaught FastCap, you will need to apply/use the mixed solution within 24 hours. Only mix when you are ready to use within that time. The bottle of product in the concentrated form will have a 2-3 year shelf life (if stored away from extreme temperatures) from the date of purchase. Applications of the product are once quarterly to the interior listed areas on the product label and monthly to the exterior of the structure.

    Q
Would either Onslaught or Demon be a good alternative Cy Kick CS?
I have used CyKick monthly for about a couple of years. This summer I have found a few scorpions in the house. Are they becoming resistant to CyKick ? Which of these 2 products would be better as an alternative to CyKick.
    A
If you have been using the same product for a long time, it would be a good idea to switch. Onslaught Fast Cap would be a good choice.  It contains different active ingredients, including PBO. PBO gives the Fast Cap an extra kick in killing more quickly. It is also microencapsulated like Cy Kick, providing for a longer lasting residual and making it easier for the scorpions to pick up.

    Q
If I spray my house with Onslaught FastCap and it rains within 30 mins will it still work ?
    A
Onslaught FastCap as well as many other liquid insecticides only need about 30 minutes to dry. Once dry, they can hold up to rain rather well.  However, it is much easier for the product to bond to porous surfaces like concrete and siding then grass and your lawn. You may want to apply again just to be safe when there is not rain in the forecast for at least 24 hours

    Q
Between Onslaught, Temprid or Suspend Polyzone, which product do I need for a general perimeter application?
    A

Any of these products would great as general perimeter applications depending on where you are located and your pest control needs! Onslaught FastCap Spider and Scorpion Insecticide has the broadest label of all the products listed above. It is labeled for over 100 insects and it does well for harder to kill insects like spiders and scorpions due to the product being microencapsulated. Suspend Polyzone will offer the longest-lasting residual of all the products listed above and is very popular for general pest applications. Suspend Polyzone features a proprietary polymer layer that protects the active ingredient from weather, irrigation and mechanical abrasion. This controlled release formulation, which resists erosion, ensures your treatment will continue to control targeted pests for up to 90 days outdoors as well as indoors. Temprid FX is another great insecticide that can be used indoors and outdoors that contains two powerful active ingredients. This product is labeled for a variety of insects as well, but it works especially well for roaches and bedbugs.

    Q
Does Onslaught Fastcap's residual kill spiders (including Brown Recluse and Black Widow), or is it repellent?
    A

Onslaught FastCap Spider and Scorpion Insecticide is specially designed to kill spiders and will do a great job.  It is not a true repellent in that it will keep insects away, but will instead provide a long residual to continue to kill those that contact a treated surface.

    Q
Is FastCap or Suspend SC better for controlling spiders, roaches and crickets outdoors?
    A

Based on where you are located, the Onslaught FastCap would be a better choice for you. FastCap has additional active ingredients to allow for faster kill of target insects when first spraying, and it has encapsulated technology for better residual in heat and sunlight. We would recommend the newer Suspend Polyzone over Suspend SC.
